The $500 Omaha Hi-Lo event has begun downstairs in the main Borgata poker room. There are currently 21 players registered early on Level 1.
This event features a $15,000 guaranteed prize pool. Players begin with a 30,000 starting stack, and levels will be 30 minutes. Late registration is available for the first eight levels, with unlimited reentries available.
Richard Smith had just taken his seat in the field when he raised to 3,000 in the big blind after two players limped in front of him. A player in middle position called, and they went heads-up to the Q♠3♥7♣ flop.
Smith continued for 6,000, and his opponent called. Smith bet another 15,000 on the 10♣ turn, and his opponent again called.
The river was the 7♥ and Smith bet 25,000. His opponent folded this time, and Smith showed the Q♣ as he took the pot to increase his stack up to around 140,000.
Brandon Mueller was also among the latest entries as the field as increased to 321 entries on Level 4.
Thomas Savitsky took down the $500 Stud Hi-Lo event last night, beating out a field of 58 entries to win $7,250. Savitsky had previously won the $500 H.O.S.E. event earlier in the festival.

Tom Matacale three-bet to 5,000 in the big blind and picked up four callers going to a flop of 10♥7♠7♣. Matacale then bet 10,000, and only an opponent in the small blind called.
Both players checked the 8♦ turn. Matacale then bet 20,000 on the 7♥ river, and his opponent called again. Matacale showed A♦A♠, and his opponent mucked.
"I don't know how aces won in a five-way pot," Matacale said.
"How did that happen?" the dealer joined in.
"I figured when the third seven came, I could push it," Matacale added with a laugh.
Matacale is currently sitting with around 150,000 on the third level of Day 1e. The tournament clock currently shows 300 entries so far today.
Three-handed on a flop of Q♥6♥4♦, Gina Tuttle bet 2,600 from the cutoff before an opponent raised to 6,500 in the big blind. Only Tuttle called.
The big blind bet another 10,000 on the 4♣ turn, and Tuttle again called. Both players checked down the J♦ river, and Tuttle showed Q♠10♣ for two pair to win the pot as she increased her stack up to around 150,000 so far on Level 3.
Around 15,000 was in the middle as three players went to a flop of 6♥7♣A♠. A player in middle position then bet 6,000 before Benny Garcia raised to 15,000 in the cutoff. The big blind called, as did the middle-position player.
Garcia bet 30,000 on the 10♦ turn, and only the big blind called this time. The river was the 7♥ and the big blind led out for 35,000. Garcia then moved all in for 51,000. His opponent snap-called.
The big blind showed A♥K♠ for two pair, but Garcia turned over 7♦7♠ for quads to win the pot and double up to around 230,000.
The field has grown to 247 entries through two levels so far on Day 1e of the $500 Almighty Stack.
Day 1e of the $500 Almighty Stack has grown to 192 entries early on. Among the players who have joined the field were Bin Weng, coming off a final table appearance in the Super Deep 6-Max event yesterday.
Paul Spitzberg and the banana-toting Remo Lupo were also spotted in today's field.
Around 40,000 was already in the middle as Coleem Chestnut and an opponent went heads-up to the 9♣4♥5♥ flop. Chestnut then moved all in for 53,000 from the small blind.
His opponent was on the button and tanked for several minutes before folding. Chestnut showed him A♣A♠ as he took the pot.
It's already been a successful series for Chestnut, who finished in fourth place in the $600 Deep Stack Kick Off event for $60,205.
Day 1e of the $500 Almighty Stack has begun, with 119 players currently registered.
Late registration remains open for the first 12 levels of the day.
