Massey Fails to Get One Past Ba

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante

The board read {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and there was around 10,000 in the pot. Ralph Massey pushed in a pot-sized bet of 10,000 and Dinh Ba started to think.

After about a minute of thinking, Ba called and Massey turned over {j-Spades}{10-Clubs} for a missed straight draw. Ba tabled {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for two pair and more than enough to take down the pot.

Hawkins Holds on with Kings vs. Dimes

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante
Maurice Hawkins
Maurice Hawkins

A player under the gun had a bet of 7,600 in front of them and Maurice MauriHawkins pushed in 18,000. The initial raiser moved all in and Hawkins snap-called for his remaining 30,400.

Maurice Hawkins: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Opponent: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

The flop came down {9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Hawkins was still in the lead with his pair of kings. A {6-Clubs} turn and {q-Spades} river changed nothing as Hawkins took down the pot for a complete double up through his opponent.

More Faces in Flight B

Flight B continues to grow, pushing it's way toward the back of the Event Center as more tables start up. Of the 72 available tables, 49 of them are already in use.

A combined total of 746 entrants (both flights A & B) have already plunked down their buy-ins. With registration open all day today and two levels into Day 2, this field will continue to grow and could surpass last year's 1,075 entries.

Maria Ho
Maria Ho

Maria Ho has long been staying busy as a poker player, but in recent years has added poker broadcaster to her busy schedule. Earlier
this year, she was named Broadcaster of the year at the Global Poker Awards.

Aside from the fact that she has more than $3.9 million in reported tournament earnings and more than once has been the last woman remaining in the WSOP Main Event, Ho has appeared on ESPN, PokerGO, and other poker channels.

She studied communications at the University of California-San Diego, and is now making good use of her education and poker skills, combining both her passion for poker, competition, and commentary.

"One and Done" Winners From the Break

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante
Chandra Vellala
Chandra Vellala

Players are back from break and three of them have a lot of extra cash in their pockets.

During the break, three iterations of the $360 "One and Done" single-table single-hand tournaments were run.

First, Chandra Vellala pocketed $3,500 when the board read {10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Spades}{5-Clubs}{7-Spades} and his {a-Spades}{9-Spades} made a flush — and no one could produce a full house.

Then Joe Gossweiller made a wheel with his {a-Clubs}{4-Hearts} on a board of {k-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, earning $3,500.

Carlos Guerrero won the third "One and Done", but we missed the action. He also collected $3,500.

Now play has returned to normal on the tournament floor!
