Samuel Taylor Eliminated in 19th Place ($28,624)

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Sam Taylor
Sam Taylor

On the turn with a board reading {9-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{5-Clubs} Veerab Zakarian (hijack) bet 300,000. Sam Taylor (cutoff) used a Time extension, then moved in for 1,420,000.

Zakarian tanked, using three of his remaining five Time extensions before deciding to call, having Taylor covered. His {7-Spades}{7-Clubs} were good, but Taylor had outs with the {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, drawing to the nut flush.

The {8-Hearts} river was not one of Taylor's outs and he was felted in 19th place ($28,624).

Paul Snead Eliminated in 20th Place ($28,624)

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Paul Snead
Paul Snead

Paul Snead moved in for roughly 1.3 million and got looked up by Bin Weng, who had him well covered and smothered with {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}. Snead's {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} was drawing slim.

The cards fell {q-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and were no help to Snead, who gathered his things and walked away. He'll collect $28,624 for 20th place.

Another One for Serda

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Brian Altman raised to 80,000 from the middle position and was called by Patrick Serda on the button and Veerab Zakarian who defended his big blind.

The flop came {4-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}, Zakarian check-folded to the 175,000 continuation-bet of Altman which Serda did call.

They both checked through the {7-Diamonds} on the turn to the {k-Hearts} on the river. Altman now bet 625,000 which Serda called quite quickly. Altman tabled {q-Spades}{j-Clubs} and was bested by the {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs} of Serda who had turned a pair of sevens.

Weng Claims Two Pots in a Row

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Bin Weng raised to 85,000 from under the gun and Matthew Waxman three-bet to 240,000 in the hijack. Action folded back to Weng who four-bet to 785,000.

"Why don't you just shove?" Waxman responded and then folded.

"Which one do you want to see?" Weng asked. Waxman just shrugged but Paul Snead pointed at a card and Weng showed the {a-Diamonds}.

The hand after, the board read{7-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Weng had checked in the big blind with around 800,000 in the middle. Alexander Queen bet 750,000 from the hijack and Weng quickly called. Queen tabled {a-Spades}{5-Diamonds} for two pair. Weng showed {7-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for the flopped two pair but he had improved it to a flush on the river to scoop the pot.

Stephen Press Eliminated in 21st Place ($23,728)

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Stephen Press
Stephen Press

Stephen Press was under-the-gun and moved in for his last 555,000, getting called by Peter Vitantonio (hijack). Press tabled {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts} and discovered he was dominated by Vitantonio's {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}.

The runout of {k-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{q-Spades} was too little, too late for Press. Vitantonio paired his kicker to take the pot with top/top.

Press hit the rail in 21st place, earning $23,728.

Brandon Hall
Brandon Hall

Another blind vs. blind battle had Brandon Hall (sb) and Theodore Lui (bb) checking the flop of {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{5-Hearts} to see the {k-Diamonds} on the turn. Hall led out for 140,000 and got called.

The river brought the {j-Diamonds} and Hall fired 800,000, which more than covered Lui's remaining chips. Lui tanked, burning three of his four remaining Time chips before finally folding.

Hanna Rivers Zakarian In a Battle of the Blinds

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Andrew Hanna
Andrew Hanna

Both blinds were looking at a flop of {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Andrew Hanna (sb) bet 50,000. Veerab Zakarian (bb) flatted.

On the {4-Clubs} turn, Hanna checked, Zakarian bet 75,000, and Hanna called. The {7-Diamonds} completed the board and Hanna checked again. Zakarian bet 500,000, only to have Hanna jam for 805,000 total, which he called.

Zakarian showed {a-Spades}{4-Diamonds} for aces-up on the turn, but Hanna beat him with {a-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} for a better two pair on the river to double up.

Derek Marmen raised to 90,000 from the hijack and Alex Queen three-bet to 255,000 on the button for the blinds to fold. Marmen responded with a shove with the bigger stack and Queen called for the 1,745,000 he had behind.

Alex Queen: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Derek Marmen: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for Queen to hold with the higher pocket pair to double up with.
