Stone Bubble Time in Mirror Mystery Bounty
With 19 players remaining, the field is just one elimination away from the 18 bagging spots available from Day 1a of the $580 Mirror Mystery Bounty.
On the soft bubble, one player ripped in their last ten big blinds from the big blind holding 8x3x over an early-position raise. The original raiser snap-called with pocket queens and held to reduce the field to 19.
Several short stacks have managed to survive since. Among them is John Malvasio, who doubled on the stone bubble when his K♠9♠ was up against Ax10x. A nine-high flop put him in front before an ace on the turn left him needing help. The river delivered a king to keep his tournament alive.
Malvasio wasn't done there. Just a few hands later, he doubled again, this time with Kx4x holding against jack-nine to climb out of the danger zone.
