BSOP Super High Roller Series

Some of the biggest names in the Brazilian poker community and around the world have descended on São Paulo for the Brazilian Series of Poker (BSOP) Super High Roller Series, and they’ll get their chance to shine when the R$100,000 ($20,000 US) Super High Roller begins at 6 p.m. local time.

The WTC Sheraton in Brazil’s teeming metropolis plays host to the largest poker series ever held in South America over the next two weeks, and that includes, for the first time, the introduction of the Super High Roller Series. The action already got underway yesterday with the $10,000 Super High Roller Invitational, which saw 113 of the top players from Brazil and also international stars such as Benny Glaser, Masato Yokosawa, and the polarizing Martin Kabrhel, make the trip for this history-making event.

The action gets even bigger today in the $20,000 Super High Roller. Players begin with a 250,000 starting stack and will play 10 40-minute levels on Day 1. Late registration remains open until the end of Level 15 on Day 2. As an added incentive to jump in early, players who enter during Level 1 will be credited 50 percent of the rake.

The BSOP has grown into one of the most prestigious series on the global poker calendar, culminating with it winning the Global Poker Award for best mid-major tour earlier this year. Another edition is now here, and this one promises to be the biggest one yet.

Stay tuned as PokerNews follows all the action and provides updates from Day 1 of the $20,000 Super High Roller.
