2025 BSOP Super High Roller Series
Level: 10
Blinds: 5,000/10,000
Ante: 10,000
The remaining 11 players are taking a 15-minute break.
The action was caught just as Mehdi Chaoui had manoeuvred his stack of 120,000 into the middle, and was at risk versus runaway chip leader, Andre Akkari.
Mehdi Chaoui: A♥Q♣
Andre Akkari: A♦K♥
There was no help to be found for Chaoui, as the board ran out clean for Akkari's ace-king, seeing him retain his lead and eliminate Chaoui.
Rodrigo Selouan raised to 16,000 on the button, and Ivan Luca called, defending his big blind.
When Luca checked on the K♣7♣6♦ flop, Selouan continued for 17,000, which Luca called.
That would see the end of the action, as both players checked on the 7♠ turn and 2♦ river.
Selouan flipped over J♥6♥ for a pair of sixes, and Luca mucked his hand.
Not for the first time, Andre Akkari found himself defending his big blind against the raise of Ottomar Ladva on the button.
On this occasion, Ladva opened to 18,000, which Akkari called.
The action checked through on both the 6♣7♠2♣ flop and the K♦ turn.
Akkari decided the 8♦ river was a good time to put some chips in the middle, doing so for 26,000.
Ladva called but quickly mucked his cards when Akkari flipped over A♥7♦.
Level: 9
Blinds: 4,000/8,000
Ante: 8,000
Ottomar Ladva raised to 12,000 on the button, and only Andre Akkari called, defending his big blind.
Akkari checked to Ladva on the 2♣J♠7♠ flop, folding to a continuation bet of 11,000.
On the neighbouring table, a carbon copy hand took place.
Rodrigo Selouan raised from under the gun, and only Rodrigo Seiji called in the big blind.
The ace-high flop saw a check from Seiji, before he folded to a bet from Selouan.
When the action folded to Andre Akkari on the button, he raised to 12,000. The small blind got out of the way before Joao Simao put in a three-bet to 45,000 from the big blind.
Akkari wasted little time in responding with a four-bet shove, covering Simao's remaining 166,000.
A disappointed-looking Simao took a moment before returning his cards to the dealer. As he did, Akkari flipped his cards over, showing Simao he had 10♦10♣.
