2024 Champions Club Winter Poker Open
With 50,000 in the middle on the river with the board reading 8♦8♠2♥2♣6♠, Carson Wieland checked his big blind to William Leffingwell who bet 40,000.
Wieland responded with a check raise to 100,000, which covered Leffingwell's remaining 42,000 behind.
Leffingwell thought for a moment then folded his hand, leaving himself as one of several short stacks in the field as play has tightened up since the players returned from break.

After a limp under the gun from George Abi-Zeid, Lawrence Chang raised to 20,000 which got called by Kyle Arora. Abi-Zeid also called.
The trio saw a flop of A♣10♥7♦, and after a check from Abi-Zeid, Chang moved all in and was called by Arora before Abi-Zeid fiolded.
Lawrence Chang: A♠K♦Q♠4♦
Kyle Arora: A♥Q♣10♠5♥
Arora was ahead for the moment with aces and tens with the turn 4♠ giving Chang an inferior two pair.
The river J♣ however gave Chang a Broadway straight to snatch the pot away from Arora.
Meanwhile, Robert Williamson was eliminated at an adjacent table, leaving the field at 21 players.

Just 22 players remain for what could be the final break of the night.
Once 12 players remain, those players will be safely on to Day 2 in the money.
Joseph Dulaney, who won a WSOP bracelet in No-Limit Hold 'em / PLO mix last summer for just under $200,000 was down to his last 35,000 when he called a raise to 6,000 from Carson Wieland.
"If I make a pair..." said Dulaney before the dealer spread a flop of K♦K♥10♣.
"There's a pair," commented Wieland before he checked to Dulaney, who checked back.
On the A♥ turn, Wieland bet 6,000, which got an instant fold from Dulaney.

After David Mzarulov raised to 8,000 under the gun, Charles Keller moved his crumbs of 4,500 chips all in from the hijack. Curtis Cavazos then three-bet to 31,500 on the button.
Mzareulov thought for a bit and then folded to leave Keller's fate to Cavazos.
Charles Keller: K♣Q♠10♥6♣
Curtis Cavazos: A♠A♣Q♣J♦
Mzareulov claimed to have folded kings, leaving a couple of Keller's key outs in the muck if true.
The board came A♦10♦7♥8♦5♥, giving Cavazos a set of aces for the win to trim the field down to 28 with the final 12 advancing on to Day 2 in the money.
