Fleishman Moving up the Counts

Carson Wieland raised to 7,500 in the cutoff and got called by Lisa Fleishman in the small blind and Zachary Hammons in the big blind.

The trio checked the 7♠4♠3♥ flop to see the 6♦ on the turn.

Fleishman now led out for 12,000 which prompted a fold from Hammons, but Wieland called to see a river.

It was the K♣, and Fleishman bet 23,000. Wieland didn't think long before folding to send a pot to Fleishman that puts her over 200,000 chips.

Gooch Gone at Hands of Arora

A short-stacked Jason Gooch raised to 10,000 in the cutoff and was met with a three-bet to 30,000 from Kyle Arora in the small blind.

Gooch chose to commit his remaining 18,000 chips to put himself at risk.

The flop came K♣3♥3♣ pairing Gooch's king and giving him an added flush draw.

The Q♦ gave Gooch an even better two pair of kings and queens, but the 3♠ on the river counterfeited him, giving Arora the win with threes over his pocket eights for a full house to eliminate Gooch in ugly fashion.

The flop came A♠Q♣7♥ and Liu continued for 5,500. Keem called, as did Henson by lobbing in his chips.

The turn brought the Q♦ and Liu bet another 12,000. Keem folded, and this time it was his cards that Henson lobbed forward as he folded to send the pot to Liu.

Lawrence Chang is atop the chip counts with 40 players left in Day 1c, and he's taken another recent pot to add to his stack.

Chang raised to 6,000 under the gun and got calls from Jin Lee in the hijack and Charles Keller in the big blind.

On the 9♥5♠4♦ flop, Keller checked and Chang continued for 10,000. Lee called but Keller folded.

The turn brought the J♠ and both players checked to the 7♥ river.

Chang sprinkled out another 10,000 and after a bit of thought, Lee folded his hand to send the pot across the table to Chang.

A scan of the room currently has Chang with the chip lead, but Sung Keem and Kyle Arora are within reach

A total of 95 entries filled tables in two rooms of the Champions Club Texas cardroom, meaning that 12 players from Monday's Day 1c flight will advance to Day 2 Tuesday night in the money.

That number, combined with the entries from the first two opening flights totaled 199 entries for a prizepool of $192,035, comfortably passing the $150,000 guarantee.

In all, 26 players will return Tuesday for Day 2, with payout details to be confirmed once play concludes tonight.
