Day 1c Started
The last of three opening days in the Champions Club Winter Poker Open $1,100 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship is set to go Monday evening in Houston.
Through the first two opening flights over the weekend, 15 players have advanced to Tuesday’s final day of action which will award the $150,000 guaranteed prizepool to those survivors. The final 12% of Monday’s Day 1C will join them.
Thus far, just over two-thirds of that prizepool has been built with 104 entries over the first two days of play, and another solid turnout Monday will send it past the guarantee.
As far as the on-the-felt targets for players on Monday, Thai Ha’s impressive Day 1b bag of 940,000 chips will be tough to match but will be in the sights of each Day 1c player. Steven McKuin’s Day 1a chip lead of 507,000 is currently the second-largest of the 15 players returning on Day 2.
As with the first two flights, play is scheduled to get underway at 5 p.m. local time with blinds of 100/100 and 40,000 starting chips. Levels will be 30-minutes long with a 15-minute break scheduled every four levels.
Registration and re-entry remain open until the start of Level 9 at approximately 9:30 p.m. Final prizepool and payout details will be available once play is completed, along with the Day 2 seat draw.

On a flop of Q♣10♥3♠ after a bet from Sami Hamid in the small blind, Mehmet Cetinkaya got his last 21,000 in from middle position versus Zachary Hammons to his right after Hamid folded.
Mehmet Cetinkaya: J♦9♦9♠4♠
Zachary Hammons: Q♥Q♠7♠3♥
Hammons had the lead with his top set, but had to date the open-ended straight draw of Cetinkaya.
He wouldn't be able to though, as the K♣ fell on the turn to complete that straight, and the 4♦ river couldn't pair the board to bail him out, sending the sizeable pot to Cetinkaya.
