Palumbo and Wu Heading In Opposite Directions

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

A pile of orange T-1,000 chips were in the middle on a completed board of {7-Spades}{q-Clubs}{q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} with heads-up action between Sherman Wu in the big blind and Rocco Palumbo, who was on the button. Wu made a bet of 7,000 and Palumbo raised to 25,000, sending Wu into the tank for a bit before pulling back two of his betting chips and replacing it with 20K more to make the pot right.

Palumbo quickly tabled {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for a full house, causing Wu to freeze momentarily before sending his cards to the muck.

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

A preflop raising war between Brian Thieme in the cutoff and Greg Geller in the big blind saw all the chips go into the middle, with Thieme at risk for his stack of 49,500.

Brian Thieme: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Greg Geller: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}

A nine-high runout {4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Spades} left Thieme's jacks best and he doubled through Geller as a result.

Stoffel Needs No Showdown; Keeline Wins One Thereafter

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Ben Keeline
Ben Keeline

Hand #1: Ben Keeline raised to in middle position and received calls from Michael Hinde in the small blind and Chad Stoffel in the big blind to take postflop action three handed.

The flop dropped {9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and action checked to Keeline, who continuation-bet 8,000. Hinde called and then Stoffel check-raised to 25,000. Both Keeline and Hinde called.

The turn came {4-Clubs} and Hinde checked to Stoffel, who slid his remaining 68,000 forward along the felt. Keeline and Hinde both quickly folded and Stoffel took down the pot.

Hand #2: On the very next hand, Keeline opened to 7,000 under the gun and Sherman Wu called in middle position. Action went heads up to a flop of {j-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and Keeline continuation-bet 6,000. Wu called.

Keeline then checked the turn {3-Clubs} and Wu fired out 8,000. Keeline called, and then check-called another 12,000 on the river {2-Spades} to take the hand to showdown where his {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs} wound up best to earn him the pot.

Top Pair Good for Wheeler

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Mike Wheeler was in the big blind and defended his big blind against an open to 5,000 from Chris Quackenbush, who was in the cutoff. The flop came {4-Clubs}{a-Spades}{10-Spades} and Wheeler checked to Quackenbush, who continuation-bet 4,000. Wheeler called to bring the turn {6-Spades}, where he checked again.

"How much do you have?" asked Quackenbush once action was upon him.

"I have sixty-one" said Wheeler, counting his stack as he confirmed the amount.

Quackenbush bet 11,000 and Wheeler called, with action checking through the river {2-Hearts} thereafter to take the hand to showdown.

"Ace," said Wheeler as he showed {a-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. Quackenbush looked back at his two cards and then sent them to the muck.

"Nice hand," Quackenbush added.

"Thank you," responded Wheeler.

Mike Wheeler
Mike Wheeler

There was a raise to 3,500 under the gun that Roman Mai called in the cutoff before Mike Wheeler re-jammed for 35,500 in the big blind. The original raiser folded, sending action back to Mai, who confirmed the amount and then splashed calling chips into the middle.

Mike Wheeler: {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}
Roman Mai: {q-Spades}{10-Spades}

The runout {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{7-Spades}{j-Diamonds} left Wheeler's ace kicker best and scored him the double at Mai's expense.

Aweida Falls to Faecher

Level 10 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Sammy Aweida
Sammy Aweida

Sammy Aweida open-jammed for 14,000 in early position and saw action fold around to Barry Faecher on the button, who reraised and got folds from both players in the blinds.

Sammy Aweida: {a-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}
Barry Faecher: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

The flop {q-Spades}{2-Hearts}{9-Spades} gave Faecher top set, leaving Aweida in need of a perfect runout to quads to stay alive. The river {j-Hearts} squashed what little hope was there, and he got up from his seat as the river {6-Spades} completed the runout, wishing the rest of the table good luck on his way to the rail.
