Denmark's Kim Christensen Back in Action and Then Some

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Kim Christensen
Kim Christensen

We looked around for Kim Christensen after his table broke to see if the chip leader at the start of the day was still in a seat. His stack was decimated down from over 190,000 to start the day to under 8,000 in chips with about 15 minutes left before the first break. We saw him triple up before the break and he doubled up again to 53,000 while we weren't at the table.

We eventually found him and we were shocked to see that somehow he has a huge stack of chips again. It is even bigger than he started the day with 205,000 in chips in his stack.

The Dane is now back with his giant headphones on and his recognizable Yankee cap looking far more relaxed than he did 45 minutes ago.

Set Over Set Sends Reigass to the Rail

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Gatis Reigass
Gatis Reigass

Latvia's Gatis Reigass was providing good spirits in the tournament area both yesterday and today. He is very friendly and chatty with all the players at his table.

Good vibes will have to come from elsewhere as Reigass confirmed as he was walking out the door that he was eliminated from the tournament in a hand he began with over 60,000 in chips.

He shared he got it all in with bottom set holding {7-}{7-} on a {k-}{9-}{7-} board. Unfortunately for him, his opponent had {9-}{9-} for middle set and he was unable to get the one remaining seven left in the deck to spike the turn and river.

From Chip Leader to Scraps

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Kim Christensen
Kim Christensen

Day 2 has gone the opposite for Kim Christensen than Day 1b did. He entered the day as the chip leader and now is on scraps.

With the board reading {6-Spades}{k-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, Terje Bremseth jammed for 50,100. Christensen with not too much more behind called.

Bremseth: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Christensen: {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

The check mark was already with Bremseth with Christensen drawing dead. the {A-} completed the board on the river and Christensen was down to under 8,000 in chips.

Christensen was able to win the next hand {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} against the {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} held by Borge Dypvik in an all-in preflop pot to bring his stack to around 25,000 as the break was coming in.

Easy Peasy for Reigass

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Gatis Reigass

Gatis Reigass lost some of his stack but just got it back. He opened the button to 2,600 and Roope Tarmi called from the big blind.

Both players checked the {3-Clubs}{q-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop before Tarmi led out for 4,200 after the {5-Clubs} appeared on the turn.

Reigass called and then called a bet of 9,200 from his opponent after the {k-Hearts} completed the board on the river.

Tarmi turned over {Q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} for a pair which was good until the river when Reigass snagged a better pair with {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}.

Reigass who has been chatting away both yesterday and today was unusually quiet after the hand. Instead it was tablemate Patrik Backlund who spoke up.

"Easy peasy," laughed Backlund before he added, "Nice river."

Kim Christensen's Stack is Smaller

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Kim Christensen entered the day as the chip leader. This is no longer the case as there are a few stacks around the room at 200,000 or great while Christensen's stack has become smaller.

He just shook his head in frustration after he lost a small pot against Anders Stai.

Christensen bet 5,000 into a pot of around 8,000 on a {6-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} board. His opponent quickly called and Christensen turned over {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}.

Stai shouted king-six and a moment later showed he wasn't misrepresenting his hand when turning over {k-Clubs}{6-Hearts} for two pair and the pot.

Despite Christensen bleeding some chips, he still has a good stack of around 125,000, which is more than 100 big blinds.

Pyysing Doubles Off Luik

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Roland Luik
Roland Luik

Finland's Aki Pyssing was down to under 40,000 in chips but now has more than double this stack.

Roland Luik opened to 3,200 before Pyssing three-bet to 10,000. Luik four-bet jammed for about 180,000 and Pyssing wasted no time in calling his stack of 39,100.

Pyssing: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}
Luik: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

Both players held premium hands, however, Luik needed a ton of help as a 4:1 underdog in order to continue his momentum and eliminate his opponent.

Instead, Luik began counting out his chips after the flop came {K-Hearts}{6-Spades}{6-Clubs} to give Pyssing a set. The {2-Spades} on the turn and the {9-Clubs} on the river made things official and Pyssing doubled up.
