Welcome to Day 2 of the Coolbet Open €550 Main Event at Olympic Park Casino and Hilton Park Hotel located in the heart of the Estonian capital.

Players traveled from near and far to play in the Main Event with a combined 368 entrants joining the field on Day 1 with the Day 1a field attracting 104 entrants and the Day 1b field attracting 264 entrants. This figure will continue to grow as unlimited reentries are still allowed throughout the late registration period that will close after the first blind level is in the books today on Day 2.

A total of 151 players survived yesterday's action with Day 1b chip leader Kim Christensen from Denmark leading the way to start the day with a huge stack of 190,900 in chips. With 62 more surviving Day 1a, there are a total of 213 players advancing to Day 2 through opening flights.

Behind Christensen on the chip leaderboard are Day 1a chip leader Dmitri Zatsik in second place with 163,700 and Craig Timmis in third place with 152,600.

Sunbakk's Ace Nine Suited is Good

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

The action began with Eli Sundbakk raising to 2,500 from the hijack before Sergei Bildjukevits three-bet to 8,500 from the cutoff. Sundbakk called after the action folded back around to her.

Sundbakk check-called a bet of 7,500 from her opponent after the flop came {6-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. Both players checked after the {8-Spades} came on the turn and the {2-Spades} completed the board on the river.

Sundbakk flipped {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for top pair. Bildjukevits shook his head before he tabled {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} to give Sundbakk an early pot.

Berggren Eliminates Lund

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
David Berggren
David Berggren

Already a bunch of players have been eliminated with some deciding to reenter. One player out of his seat is Asgeir Mogens Lund.

With about 30,000 in chips in the pot and the board reading {2-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}, David Berggren bet 22,500. Lund was already all-in from action on previous streets.

Eduard Kruglov-Arutiunian, thought about it for a moment and called.

Berggren turned over {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}, which was good for two-pair and more than good to send Lund to the rail who held {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and to put a dent in Kruglov-Artuniunian's stack after his cards were tossed into the muck.

Estonian Jesus Freshens His Stack But Doesn't Want to Talk About It

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Rauno "Estonian Jesus" Tahvonen
Rauno "Estonian Jesus" Tahvonen

Rauno "Estonian Jesus" Tahvonen was just taking a new seat with a new stack of chips.

He reentered the tournament after he jammed with 16 big blinds and ran into a player with {k-}{k-}.

"The hand was so bad I jammed with I don't want to talk about it," Tahvonen said with a huge smile on his face. "My opponent was smiling even before I got my jam in, which should have been a sign to lay low in that spot."

When Short Stack Collide

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Both Bjørn Roger Dale and Vaakko Kayhko began today as short stacks. Both players have thus far survived the opening level with Kayhko getting breathing room early and Dale barely hanging on.

Things changed a bit for both players after the battled it out in the following hand.

Dale open-jammed for 8,700 into a pot of more than 5,000 on a {3-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{9-Spades} flop and got a call from Kayhko.

Dale: {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}
Kayhko: {J-Clubs}{2-Clubs}

Dale had an advantage in the hand with an overpair with Kayhko needing some help in order to eliminate his opponent. Kayhko was unable to improve his hand after the {6-Clubs} came on the turn and the {q-Spades} completed the board on the river.

Kayhko still had more chips after the hand than he started the day with while Dale got a much needed double up.

Tournament Director Teresa Nousianen just announced for dealers to finish the hand they are dealing with and stop with Level 9 now completed.

The reason the action is paused is to allow players to void their stacks and reenter with a fresh one. After this, late registration and the reentry period is closed.

We will announce the final field size shortly along with the total prize pool.
