Not a Good Two Hands for Jamsen

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

Timo Jamsen hasn't had the best start of the day and is down to 20,000 in chips after losing two hands in a short span.

In the first hand, Eero Lehtinen three-bet to 1,600 from the small blind and got a call from Jamsen who was the early position opener.

Lehtinen continued for 1,200 after the {5-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{j-Hearts} came on the flop and got a call. Both players checked after the {8-Diamonds} came on the turn.

Lehtinen then fired out for an almost pot-sized bet of 5,200 and got a quick call from Jamsen. Lehtinen turned over {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} to beat the {q-Clubs}{q-Spades} exposed by Jannsen.

A few minutes later, Jamsen three-bet from the small blind to 1,500 and got a call from Dino Dimler, who was unsuccessful in bagging a stack yesterday. Jamsen fired out a continuation bet of 1,500 after the {q-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} came on the flop and got a call. Both players checked after the {4-Diamonds} came on the turn. Jannsen then gave up on the hand by check-folding a bet of 2,000 from his opponent after the {9-Hearts} came on the river.

Field Bigger Than Yesterday

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

There are 131 players reading on the big board and more waiting to take their seats. This is already bigger than the 130 entrants that battled it out during Day 1a.

Drawmaha Festival About to Begin

Drawmaha Festival
Drawmaha Festival

The Drawmaha Festival is a new addition to the Coolbet Open. The €220 Drawmaha Championship is about to begin. Players from Sweden, Norway, and all around Europe have been anxiously waiting to compete in what they refer to as Sviten Special.

Drawmaha or Sviten Special is a unique game with tons of action as it combines both five-card pot-limit Omaha and five-card draw in the same hand.

Players are dealt five cards and there is a round of betting. A flop is a dealt and another round of betting takes place. Any players remaining in the hand at this point can draw zero to five cards. If one card is requested it is face-up for everyone to see. The player has a choice whether to keep it or request a new card face down. Otherwise, all exchanged cards are face down.

A turn is dealt followed by a round of betting before the final bets take place after the river is dealt. Half the pot is awarded to the best five card draw hand while the other half of the pot is awarded to the best five-card Omaha hand.

Jan Svendsen

The Day 1b field has already grown to 116 entrants.

Coolbet Founder Jan Svendsen is back in action for his fourth bullet after three unsuccessful attempts yesterday. Svendsen has found success in Tallinn before, albeit more than a decade ago. In 2008, he took second place in the Olympic Open €1,050 Championship for €18,732.

Also in the mix is David Levy, who returns to Tallinn for the Coolbet Open for the third time. Levy made it deep in the first-ever Coolbet Open Main Event in May 2018 when he took 19th place for €1,750.

Joel Lindpere
Joel Lindpere

Coolbet Ambassador Joel Lindpere is back in action after an unsuccessful first bullet in yesterday's Day 1a field.

While he is better known as the best footballer to come out of Estonia having played for years on the national team and for the New York Red Bulls and Chicago Fire, he is more than adept at the poker tables as well.

He has two five-figure cashes including a runner-up performance in the 2016 Estonian Championships €300 Main Event for €11,900.

Also back in action after an unsuccessful Day 1a is Coolbet COO Anders Karlsen.
