Jewell's Roller Coaster Comes to a Crashing End

Lori Bandelloni opened to 12,000 from under the gun, Chip Jett three-bet to 32,000 from the small blind, and Kurt Jewell moved all in for 65,500 from the big blind. The action folded back to Jett, who called, and the hands were opened.

Jett: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Jewell: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

It looked as if Jewell's luck was beginning to turn as the flop and turn produced {3-Spades}{2-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, but remarkably, the {k-Clubs} spiked on the river to eliminate him.

Jewell is suddenly out, while Jett is up to 183,000.

Schwartz Doubles

Justin Schwartz was all in and at risk preflop holding {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}. His opponent, Peter Jankowski, held {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, and the board ran out {4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}.

Schwartz doubled to 135,000 chips, while Jankowski slipped to 200,000.

And Jewell Goes Down Again

Level 16 has been very turbulent for Kurt Jewell, who's seen his stack go up, then down, and now very far down.

Jewell opened to 8,500 from the hijack seat, and Charles Saleba three-bet to 34,000 from the big blind. Jewell four-bet to 59,500, and Saleba called.

The flop fell {7-Hearts}{9-Spades}{j-Diamonds}, and Saleba quickly moved all in for 209,000. Jewell snapped it off instantaneously.

Saleba: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Jewell: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Jewell held an overpair, but Saleba could double with a ten or an eight. The turn was another jack - the {j-Spades} - and the {8-Clubs} spiked on the river to give Saleba a straight.

He doubled to 545,000 chips, while Jewell is left with just 76,000.

Jewell Up, Jewell Down

After winning a big pot, Kurt Jewell and Art Pappas were heads up on a flop of {j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}. Jewell checked, Pappas bet, and Jewell moved all in. Pappas called all-in for around 104,000.

Jewell: {a-Spades}{8-Spades}
Pappas: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

The turn and river came {3-Clubs}, {4-Hearts}, and Pappas doubled to around 230,000 chips.

A Boat for Jewell

Kurt Jewell opened to 12,000 from the hijack seat, Charles Saleba called in the big blind, and the dealer fanned {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{a-Hearts}. Saleba check-called a bet of 9,000, and the turn was the {q-Hearts}. Saleba checked, Jewell fired 15,500, and Saleba called.

The river was the {6-Spades}, and Saleba checked a third time. A relentless Jewell slid forward 40,500, and Saleba called.

Jewell tabled {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for queens full, and Saleba mucked his hand.

The Rich Get Richer

John Roderiques opened in late position, Carlo Sciannameo re-raised from the big blind, and Roderiques moved all in.

Sciannameo snapped it off, tabling {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}, and Roderiques showed {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}.

The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{3-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts}, and Roderiques was eliminated.

D'Agata Busts Soleiti

Vanessa Selbst opened to 6,500 in early position and Fabio D'Agata called on the button. Jimmy Soleiti re-raised all for 51,800 forcing a fold from Selbst, but not D'Agata.

Soleiti: {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}
D'Agata: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

The board was a fun one, but D'Agata managed to hold up through it as it rolled out {A-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} to give him the pot.

Moriarty Busts Two

Brent Johnson limped in from under the gun, Ryan Moriarty raised in the hijack seat, Jeffrey Einsidler moved all in for around 37,000 from the big blind, and Johnson re-shoved. Moriarty called, and the hands were tabled.

Johnson: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Moriarty: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}
Einsidler: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

The flop fell {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{8-Clubs}, giving both Einsidler and Moriarty a set. The board completed {5-Spades}, {j-Spades}, and were both Einsidler and Johnson were eliminated.
