Day 3 Started
2019 WSOP Main Event Champion has been a regular at the PLO Grand Slam ever since Diamond Poker Series hosted the second-ever edition in Tirana this year. He immediately made his mark by getting sixth in the marquee €5K event of the series, only to follow it up by becoming the runner-up of the same event at the next stop in Tallinn.
Continuing his form, today Ensan is just a few eliminations away from keeping his streak of final tables going, as he is one of 13 players who will return to Casino Malta at 1 p.m. local time for the final day of the €10,300 Championship, the other flagship event of the PLO Grand Slam. Ensan's stack of 3,750,000 places him fifth on the leaderboard going into Day 3, having an above-average 63 big blinds at his disposal.
The chiplead is in the hands of Andras Nemeth. Nemeth will have the best papers for conquering the top prize of €437,100 with the longtime pro coming back with 5,940,000. Others who remain from the field of 182 and are battling for the majority of the €1,880,000 prize pool include Filip Lovric, Day 1 chipleader Ole Schemion, and Austrian poker veteran Harry Casagrande

The players have trickled into the poker room, and the chips have been unbagged.
The "shuffle up and deal" has sounded, officially marking the start of the final day of the €10,300 PLO Grand Slam Championship.
Aku Joentausta opened to 165,000 in middle position. Andreas Thelin defended his big blind, after which both players checked the 6♣7♦7♣ flop.
Thelin also checked the 4♠ turn, but Joentausta aggressed with a bet of 200,000. Thelin called to the 3♠ river, where Joentausta sized up to 650,000.
Thelin quickly check-called again. Joentauste showed A♠A♦7♠6♥ for top full house, raking in the first pot of the day.

Andras Nemeth raised to 210,000 in the cutoff, and Stanislav Zegal obliged with a call on the button. Ole Schemion then three-bet to 900,000 in the small blind, getting both opponents to fold.
"Finally, a nice spot. It's been rough," a relieved Schemion said as he raked in the chips.

Filip Lovric opened his button to 150,000. Hossein Ensan and Johan Espholm called in the blinds, and the 4♣K♠3♦ flop was fanned.
Ensan checked in flow before Espholm led out with a bet of 250,000. Initial raiser Lovric got out of the way, but Ensan announced a pot-sized raise to 1,260,000.
Espholm spent some time in the tank, announcing a fold near the end of his regular shot clock. Ensan was kind enough to table A♠A♥K♦, accompanied by the word "gamble."

The pot had swelled to about 1,500,000 when Danyil Zaremba committed his last 825,000 from the big blind on a 10♦8♣2♥ flop. Andras Nemeth quickly called in the cutoff, putting his opponent at risk.
Danyil Zaremba: K♦K♣Q♥4♣
Andras Nemeth: A♠J♠10♠7♣
The 5♠ turn remained safe for Zaremba's kings, but Nemeth made two pair on the 7♠ river to take down the pot and make Zaremba the first elimination of Day 3.

After Andreas Thelin had three-bet from the cutoff, Hans Thumann four-bet all in from the hijack for about 1,500,000. Thelin snapped him off, and the cards were revealed.
Hans Thumann: K♠K♣10♠J♦
Andreas Thelin: A♥A♦6♠3♠
Thumann flopped a wrap on 9♠5♥Q♦, but the 9♣ turn was of no use. Neither was the 2♣ river, as Thelin's aces held to knock out Thumann in 12th place.

In a three-bet pot worth 1,490,000, Aki Vihikainen checked under the gun to Stanislav Zegal in the cutoff. Zegal then committed his last 670,000 chips, and Vihikainen called after spending one time extension.
Stanislav Zegal: A♣K♠Q♣8♠
Aki Vihikainen: K♦K♣10♦10♣
Vihikainen's kings remained best on the 9♦ turn, but the 4♠ river completed Zegal's flush draw to grant him his double-up. Vihikainen paid off a large portion of his stack, being left with about 12 big blinds.
