Varonen Doubles After Attacking Limps

Level 12 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Lucas van den Belt limped in under the gun, with several of his tablemates following suit. Lauri Varonen then raised to 60,000 in the big blind, after which Van den Belt quickly three-bet to 210,000.

"Why did I raise?" Varonen lamented after the rest of the table had folded. He then called off for 190,000, revealing the cards.

Lauri Varonen: KJ107 All in
Lucas van den Belt: AAQ7

Varonen flopped huge on 103J with two pair and a flush draw. The 3 turn counterfeited his two pair, but the 2 river completed his flush, doubling him up and leaving Van den Belt with half a starting stack.

Pansier In for Another One

Level 12 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Nino Pansier
Nino Pansier

In a pot of about 300,000, Nino Pansier committed his final 45,000 on the 63J2 turn. Hans Thumann quickly looked him up, revealing AQQ5 for the nut flush.

It remained the nuts on the 9 river, and Pansier's cards were quickly swept into the muck. At another table, Tom-Aksel Bedell became the final elimination before the field was sent on a break.

Doing what the Dutchman has been doing over the past days, Pansier immediately bought back in as he neared double-digit entries.

Daniel Birkmose
Daniel Birkmose

Stefan Lehner limped in from middle position, and "Sonic" did so on the button. Daniel Birkmose then raised to 60,000 in the small blind, which both opponents called.

Birkmose quickly tossed in his final 36,000 on the AJA flop. Lehner called, while "Sonic" gave up after some thought.

Daniel Birkmose: AKKQ All in
Stefan Lehner: J988.

Lehner was drawing dead after the 2 turn, and Birkmose nearly tripled as the river was dealt.

Yanovski Hits Rail for Final Time

Level 13 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Leonid Yanovski
Leonid Yanovski

Leonid Yanovski got his last 200,000 or so in preflop, up against Stian Usterud.

Leonid Yanovski: KJJ10 All in
Stian Usterud: AA92

Not for the first time, Yanovski had run into aces. He flopped a straight on QA10, but the 33 runout made Usterud a full house to eliminate Yanovski, permanently this time.
