Clifford Waite was one of the players to win into this $20,000 rake-free Main Event by finishing at the final table of the Epic Poker League $1,500 Pro/Am event. Waite finished in fourth place there for $7,540 in prize money along with his $20,000 seat. Here in the Main Event, he's going toe to toe with the best in the world. In this hand, Waite was pitted against Nenad Medic and came out on top.
On the board, Waite fired 3,400 and Medic called. The river completed the board with the and Waite bet 5,000. Medic made the call after a long time in the tank and Waite tabled the . Medic mucked and Waite won the pot.
From the button, Bryn Kenney raised to 1,500 after action folded to him. James Van Alstyne made the call from the small blind and the two went heads up to a flop.
The first three community cards were the and Van Alstyne checked to the preflop aggressor. Kenney fired 1,800 and Van Alstyne check-raised to 5,400. The check-raise was enough for Kenney to release his hand and Van Alstyne won the pot.
With a little over 8,000 in the pot on the flop, Greg Raymer fired 5,000. Jason DeWitt made the call and the two saw the land on the turn. Raymer bet again and this time he made a wager worth 11,200 with approximately 12,000 behind. DeWitt raised to put Raymer all in and Raymer folded.
We caught the action on board with Brock Parker contemplating a bet from Vanessa Selbst that would cost him all of his remaining chips.
Eventually, he called and Selbst immediately tabled for a flush. Parker mucked his hand and Vanessa Rousso repeated something Selbst had apparently said earlier. "You're either bluffing or you're all in."
Selbst just smiled and said, "Well technically he was all in."
