Further Frida Updates

That photo of Frida with Nicolas Levi was taken earlier in the day; she is currently ministering to the aching back muscles of Danny Ryan. As she massages Mr Ryan, however, a worrying squeaking noise can be clearly heard above the background noise of the card room. We're hoping it's the chair making the noise, rather than any part of Mr Ryan or Frida...

Among those who have recently bitten the tournament dust is usually jovial Frenchman Nicolas Levi, here being pummeled by the beautiful Frida.

"I Hate My Life"

Those were the words of young English player Tony "Ginger" Phillips as he told me the sad tale of how he came to be down to just 900 chips. It turns out that he got his stack in well ahead with pocket kings against {A-Clubs} {10-Clubs} preflop -- but his opponent flopped a flush, and now Phillips is, as he put it, "Virtually out."

Fiore's Stack Blooms

An incredibly lucky double up for Stefano Fiore. On a {10-Spades} {2-Clubs} {2-Spades} flop, Fiore's opponent bet out, and Fiore raised from the button. His opponent reraised to more or less cover Fiore, and Fiore pushed his chips across the line.

There was a few minutes' pause as the dealer confused the pot with Fiore's stack and the floor had to be called over, but eventually they were on their backs, Fiore a massive underdog.

Fiore: {A-Hearts} {10-Hearts}
Opponent: {A-Diamonds} {A-Spades}

Turn: {5-Clubs}

River: {10-Diamonds}!

"YESSSSS!!!" cried an elated Fiore and ran off in joy, though coming back fairly quickly to stack up his chips. His dejected opponent is down to 2,000.
