Biechel Busts

Another Frenchman down in the shape of Remy Biechel. It was looking ok for him, as he shoved the {K-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {10-Hearts} flop holding {10-Clubs} {10-Spades}, but young Josh Gould of the UK was holding {K-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} which came good on the {8-Hearts} turn and stayed good through the {9-Spades} river.

Gould now a contender, on 85,000.

Antony Lellouche Eliminates Peter Jepsen, First to Top 100K

"Raise my blind again!" quipped Peter Jepsen as the action was folded around to Antony Lellouche. Lellouche, who has been quite active at his table, obliged with an opening raise to 2,900 and Jepsen made the call.

Jepsen led out for 7,900 on the flop, Lellouche raised to 18,000, and Jepsen shipped it in for 27,000 total. Lellouche called, his {Q-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} in excellent shape against Jepsen's {K-?} {J-?}. No help for Jepsen as the turn and river came {7-?} {3-?} and he hit the rail.

With that pot, Lellouche's stack reached 103,500, the first player to top 100,000 in this event.

Vanessa Thobert Eliminated

After an opening raise to 2,000, Vanessa Thobert pushed all in for 6,000 and got a call; her {10-Spades} {10-Clubs} racing against {A-Clubs} {K-Spades}. Though the eight-high flop was good for Thobert, a king spiked on the turn to diminish her hopes of another double-up. No ten on the river for Thobert and she hit the rail.

Marty Smyth Doubles Up

Luck O' The Irish
Luck O' The Irish
Short-stacked Irishman Marty Smyth got the rest of his chips in pre-flop with {K-Clubs} {J-Spades} and was up against the {Q-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} of Fabian Holling. Smyth made kings up by the river on the {6-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {2-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {K-Spades} board and doubled his stack to 11,000. Holling was crippled, left with only 2,500.
