Marcel Baran Eliminated

Marcel Baran
Marcel Baran
Marcel Baran had lost a few chips already when he found {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}. He had one opponent on a {J-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop and decided to give a free card. The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and Marcel bet out and was called. Marcel shoved the rest in on a blank river but was insta-called by {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} and is eliminated.

Tough Start For Thew

Julian Thew
Julian Thew
EPT Baden winner Julian Thew was down to just 700 chips and on the big blind. There were a couple of limpers and the flop came down {3-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{J-Clubs} and he called a 300 chip bet from the small blind player. He then moved in blind before the turn was dealt for his last 300. The turn was {9-Diamonds} and the small blind duly called.

Julian {Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades}
Small Blind {Q-Spades}{9-Spades}

The river was the {2-Clubs} and Julian is back up to 1700 chips now.

Doing Poland Proud

Wojciech Frankowski
Wojciech Frankowski
Local player Wojciech Frankowski, playing today on his home turf, is off to a great start already having accumulated almost 20,000 in chips.

in a recent hand, with the board showing 5-J-6-7-A, action was checked to Frankowski who fired a 1,200 bet. His lone opponent in the hand made the call and tabled 8-4 for an eight-high straight. Frankowski one-upped his heads-up foe, however, revealing 8-9 for the nut straight and scooped the decent-sized pot at the end of the first level of play.

Frankowski is just three months removed from a final table appearance at EPT Prague in December 2007 where he finished in 9th place, earning over $11,000 in prize money.

Daniel Ryan Eliminates a Player

With a board reading {4-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and 1,600 in the pot already, the player in the small blind position bet out 1,600. Daniel Ryan re-popped it to 4,500 only to face a re-raise all in. It was an easy enough call for the EPT Copehagen final-table finisher as he flipped {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades} which was good against the {6-Clubs}{8-Clubs} of his opponent.
