Isaia Makes It Work

After the board read {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} {2-Hearts} {8-Clubs}, Alessio Isaia bet 5,600 into a lone opponent. The played thought and then made the call.

The river brought the {6-Hearts}. Isaia took his time and then fired out 8,200. His opponent took his time as well, about two minutes. Eventually, he made the call.

Isaia turned up {A-Diamonds} {A-Spades} for trip aces. His opponent mucked after being sure to double check for a heart in his hand.

Nick "FU_15" Maimone raised from middle position to 4,200 and only the big blind called.

The turn brought the {J-Spades}. After his opponent checked to him, Maimone fired 7,000. His opponent slid his cards into the muck, giving Maimone the pot. Maimone choose to show and revealed {K-Hearts} {J-Hearts} to the table.

Young Guns Giving Some Back

Matt Woodward is by far and away the tournament chip leader, but not everything has been so easy. After opening with a raise preflop, Woodward was called by the player in the big blind. The player checked the flop of {J-Spades} {8-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} to Woodward. Woodward fired out 5,800, but the big blind wasn't about to make things so easy. He check-raised to 13,000 and prompted a fold from Woodward.

Over at an adjacent table, Nick "FU_15" Maimone bet 6,000 on a flop of {K-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {4-Clubs}. His opponent on the button moved all in for 37,000 total. Maimone paused, but elected to get away from his hand.

Both young players gave a little back to the competition at their respective table, but are still well above where they began the day.

Dragan Tamed

See those chips? Not there any more.
See those chips? Not there any more.
A huge disaster for Dragan Galic, as he turned a gutshot and the chips went in -- and soon discovered that his all-in opponent Simon Munoz had turned a bigger gutshot.

Galic: {7-Diamonds} {10-Clubs}
Munoz: {7-Spades} {8-Clubs}

Board: {4-Clubs} {6-Spades} {3-Hearts} {5-Spades} {A-Diamonds}

Ouch.

A massive double up for Munoz to 240,000; Galic meanwhile is down to just 15,000 and shaking his head. "Would you have folded that?" Galic asked table neighbour William Reynolds. Negative.

Lex Sends Opponent Into Torture Rack

Out of the corner of our eye, we saw Lex Veldhuis putting all of his chips in the middle. This wouldn't be that big of a deal, except for the fact that Veldhuis has a massive stack. At the time of his shove, the board read {K-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {3-Hearts} {9-Spades} {2-Diamonds}.

Lex's opponent had made it 18,000 to go in a pot of approximately 50,000. Lex moved over the top of his opponent for 103,200 total. The player tanked and tanked. Finally, he folded and Lex scooped the pot. Lex now has about 180,000 chips.

Rahman Noodles ElkY

Who da Rah-man?
Who da Rah-man?

Flop: {6-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} {A-Hearts}

ElkY bet out 4,700 and Rahman called again.

Both players checked the {3-Spades} turn and come the {4-Clubs} river ElkY checked again. Rahman now bet 7,500, and ElkY folded as the media personnel dispersed.

Rahman is up to 200,000.

Chip Leader Loses Huge Pot

Matt Woodward has dropped a huge chunk of his chips and is back down to 250,000.

The board was reading {3-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {7-Spades} {5-Spades} and Woodward had raised his opponent's 16,000 bet to 40,000. A quick all-in and an equally swift call and Woodward revealed his {3-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} but was behind to {7-Clubs} {7-Diamonds}.

A {Q-Diamonds} on the river and Woodward was forced to hand over an additional 108,100 as a result.

Roland Picks One Up Before Break

In the last hand at his table before the break, Roland de Wolfe raised from the small blind to 3,600. The big blind called and the two players took a flop of {Q-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {4-Hearts}. De Wolfe bet 6,600 and his opponent called.

The turn brought the {8-Clubs} and Roland deliberated for a while before checking. His opponent checked behind.

The river was the {A-Spades} and Roland fired 13,500. His opponent took a few moments before mucking his hand and Roland is now up to 107,000.
