Bruno Fitoussi is not messing around here today. He's just played his third consecutive pot, opening with a raise to 60,000. This time, though, Jacques Guenni moved all in for 150,000 total. Fitoussi was getting quite the right price to call, but he took a few minutes to be certain before committing the chips to put Guenni at risk. Cards up:
Fitoussi:
Guenni:
The dealer spread out a "comedy flop" as the commentators call it: . Guenni still had the best hand with his pair of aces, but Fitoussi picked up nearly half the deck as out cards. The on the turn was indeed one of those outs, improving him to trips and leaving Guenni dead to an ace. The river was most certainly not an ace, and Guenni has been knocked off in 23rd place.
Khier Rezaik opened for a standard raise, and Andras Nemeth quickly announced "All in." Everyone expected action to pass quickly back to Rezaik. Not so fast.
Mike "Timex" McDonald asked for a count of both stacks. Nemeth had over 600,000 at risk in the middle. After a moment of thought, he over-shipped. Rezaik folded, and cards were on their backs.
Showdown
Nemeth:
McDonald:
Flop: - Nemeth took the lead and looked set for a double up.
Turn: - Uhoh. Punch in the gut for Nemeth as McDonald hit his set. Nemeth needed a queen and a queen only to survive.
Jake "Emo" Cody has been getting involved early doors.
Confronted with a raise from David Morante, Cody stuck in a hefty reraise. Morante eyed him intently, and eventually folded.
Cody passed those chips along though when he raised on the cutoff only for Martin Staszko to push form the button, an expression of absolute innocence on his face. After a long period in the tank, Cody passed.
Bruno Fitoussi opened the pot with a raise, and Craig Bergeron three-bet it right back to him. When Fitoussi moved all in for 203,000 total, "HU4ROLLZ" was priced in, and he made the call with the covering stack.
Showdown
Fitoussi:
Bergeron:
Fitoussi was ahead and poised to double, but not as far ahead as he would have liked. In any event, the board ran out safe for him: . Ship the double up to Fitoussi, finding himself sitting with just about 450,000 now.
Philippe Ktorza raised to a risque 69,000, but Michael Fratty made it what looked like 234,000 to go. There ensued some minutes of dwelling before Ktorza folded. Fratty showed him pocket queens by way of some kind of warning.
Nicolo Calia open shipped from the cutoff, and Freddy Deeb in the small blind asked for a count. The dealer determined that Calia had 290,000. After counting out the calling chips, Deeb changed his mind and folded. Jake Cody quickly mucked, giving Calia a pass.
Nicolo showed a pair of queens. "Not deuces this time,"
"It if was 280 I'll play, but not 290," said Deeb.
