The field is huge, the rooms are crowded, and many of the well-known players are, owing to the aforementioned quirk of Italian law, not wearing the logos and patches that so often help us identify them. All of this adds up to every foray on to the tournament floor making us feel much the way we imagine goldfish feel upon seeing the little plastic castle at the bottom of their tank every time they pass by it - wow, where did that come from?
