Pisna Eliminated

A preflop three-bet from Johann Pisna put him all in for just about 30,000 total, and Maurizio Sepede made the call after he'd raised, his covering stack putting Pisna at risk. Cards up, gents:

Pisna: {A-Clubs} {J-Clubs}
Sepede: {Q-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds}

The board frowned on the all-in Pisna as it rolled out {6-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} {J-Hearts}. Unable to get over the hump, he's been eliminated.

Haigh Low; Gaines Gains

We caught up with Robert Haigh and Lee Gaines on the turn of a {10-Hearts} {10-Spades} {9-Spades} {A-Diamonds} board, with Haigh betting out and Gaines raising. Haigh made the call and they saw the river.

The river was the {4-Diamonds} and this time Haigh checked. Gaines bet 37,000 and now Haigh disappeared into the tank for several long minutes. When he came out again he called, but just mucked and looked extremely unhappy when Lee Gaines turned over {K-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} for trips.

Toth On Top

Blind on blind, Richard Toth (small) and Johannes Strassmann (big) saw a {9-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {8-Clubs} flop. Toth checked it, called a bet from Strassmann, and they saw the {10-Diamonds} turn which both players checked.

The river was the {J-Clubs}, making a straight on the board, and now Toth bet out 46,000. Eventually Strassmann called - and then mucked in horror when Toth turned over {6-Clubs} {3-Clubs} for a flush. He grumbled some things at Toth, which, though grumbled very quietly, we think amounted to a) he'd had Toth crushed on the flop, and b) he had flopped a set...

No Party for Fest

Johann Fest saw a king-high flop heads up with Mark Bech, and Bech announced all in to cover him. With just 60,000 left to his name Fest thought about it for long enough that the clock was called, and he was down to less than 10 seconds when he folded, showing a king. He was rewarded for his prudence as Bech showed him pocket kings for a dominating set.

Carson Climbing Up the Counts

Lam Trinh raised to 8,000 in the small blind and Russell "rdcrsn" Carson defended his big blind.

The flop came down {2-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Trinh made a continuation bet of 11,000. Carson re-raised to 26,000 and Trinh wasted little time in popping it to 53,000. Carson took a few moments, but made the call.

The {Q-Clubs} turn card was checked by Trinh, leading to a bet of 45,000 from Carson. Trinh gave it up, dropping to 160,000.

Russell Carson is up to 345,000.

Mattern Moves On

With just a paltry 48,000 chips left in his stack, Arnaud Mattern rode it for a few orbits before moving in with {A-Clubs} {10-Clubs}. Marco Fantini looked him up from the small blind with the covering stack and the dominating {A-Spades} {J-Spades}, putting the Team PokerStars Pro in a bad spot to survive.

The board of {7-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {3-Hearts} {9-Spades} did nothing to improve either player, and Fantini's jack kicks Mattern right out the door.

Lam Minted

The board read {7-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {6-Spades} {6-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} and Lam Trinh checked to Dan Murariu who bet 40,000 into the 100,000 pot. Trinh dwelled up for some time before making the call - and then clapped with delight as his {10-Clubs} {10-Spades} turned out to be ahead of Murariu's {A-Hearts} {K-Spades}.

Trinh is up to 260,000.
