De Meulder Thinks He is Out...

...but actually doubles up. It was a blind vs. blind battle that involved Adrien Alibert and Christophe de Meulder.

Alibert raised to 4,700 from the small blind and de Meulder popped it to 17,000 from the big blind. Alibert made a small four-bet to 35,700 and de Meulder was quick to shove for an additional 48,800 more.

A quick call from Alibert revealed {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, trailing de Meulder's {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}. The board ran out {3-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades}{9-Hearts}{A-Hearts} and when the river ace hit, de Meulder left the table angrily and mumbled something in Dutch. The rest of the table called him back to inform him he won, and needless to say he was quite happy.

He is up to 170,000.

Italian Pirate on Last Legs

Arrrrr
Arrrrr
We don't know what Andrey Zaichenko was holding as the dealer had already mucked his hand by the time we arrived, but whatever it was it wasn't good enough to beat the all-in Max Pescatori's {A-?} {K-?}, the board reading {2-?} {2-?} {10-?} {8-?} {K-?} by the end.

Pescatori is still in the danger zone though, on just 25,000.

UPDATE: Pescatori busted a few hands later.

Queso
Queso
We picked up the action while the flop was already on board, but we can infer that Lilly Becker was the preflop raiser. She was called by both Mark Bech (small blind) and Jim Collopy (big blind), and the three players saw the flop of {K-Spades} {2-Spades} {5-Clubs}.

When Bech checked, Collopy fired out a bet of what appeared to be 6,700. Becker called without much delay, while Bech ducked out and let the two of them tangle.

Both Collopy and Becker checked the {K-Hearts} that paired the board on fourth street, and the {7-Spades} filled out the board. Collopy asked the dealer to spread the pot before stacking out a bet of 21,800. That represented a significant chunk of Becker's stack, and she elected to surrender and save her 48,000-chip remainder for a better spot.

"Mr_BigQueso" is up to 155,000 and having a suitably Happy Birthday so far, it appears.

Calia's on a Boat

With 25,000 in the pot by the river of the {9-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} board, Nicolo Calia moved in for a similar sum. He looked your blogger directly in the eye - in our experience, a sort of blogger's tell that a player has a monster - and duly, once Pieter De Vries had called, Calia flipped {J-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} for a full house, De Vries mucked and Calia sighed with relief as he doubled to around 75,000.

Ojala Busted by Shouty Opponent

"YES! YES! YESSSSS!!!!!!!!" came the rather ungentlemanly cry across the tournament room, indicating to us that Toni Ojala had moved all in with pocket sevens and Leo Spielmann had called with {A-?} {K-?}; the king spiked on the river.

Ojala looked rather hurt, but said nothing as he exited the tournament area.

Florian Langmann - Out
Florian Langmann - Out
Florian Langmann opened to 4,800, and both blinds (Johannes Strassmann and Casey Kastle) came along with the call to go to the flop three-handed.

The dealer spread out {4-Spades} {5-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}, and the blinds checked to the raiser. Langmann had just about 20,000 chips left, and he went ahead and stuck them all in there. Chip leader Strassmann instantly announced an all-in check-raise, enough to quickly fold Kastle and put the Langmann heads up with his fellow German Team PokerStars Pro for double or nothing. Cards up, herren:

Langmann: {6-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds}
Strassmann: {K-Hearts} {Q-Clubs}

Strassman's pair was in the lead, and he was looking to fade his opponent's open-ender to knock him out. The turn {10-Hearts} was safe and clean, and the {4-Diamonds} that filled out the board missed Langmann as well. He's been eliminated, and Strassmann moves up dangerously close to the half-million chip mark.
