Mizzi Takes One

When we walked up to the table, there was about 6,700 in the pot and the board read {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{2-Clubs}.

Sorel Mizzi check-called Antony Lellouche's 3,200 bet.

The two checked the {a-Clubs} turn as well as the {q-Diamonds} river.

Mizzi turned over two tens to take the pot.

A Peaceful, Easy Feldman

Andrew Feldman was all in before the flop for his last 27,700 chips, and he was looked up by an unknown player with {A-Clubs} {J-Diamonds}. Feldman's {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} was well in front, and his pair held up on a board of {K-Spades} {6-Hearts} {4-Hearts} {8-Spades} {2-Clubs}. With a big clap of the hands, Feldman has doubled his way up close to 60,000.

It came at some expense though. Just after his quick celebration, Feldman clutched the middle of his back and squirmed in pain for about a minute. The look on his face hinted at real agony, and Feldman was still writhing a bit as we walked away from the table.

Fun in the Blinds

First in from the small blind, Dennis Phillips made it 2,600 to go.

"Just a little one?" Gus Hansen asked from the big blind. With that, he three-bet to 7,800, and Phillips came right along with the call.

The flop brought {A-Spades} {2-Clubs} {3-Spades}, and Phillips knocked the table. When Hansen fired out 8,800, Phillips check-raised to 25,000 straight. Hansen double-checked his hole cards and slid them back to the dealer saying, "Okay, min-raise wins." Whatever that means.

Dennis Phillips is one of the above-averagers, sitting pretty with about 155,000 now.

Aguiar is Done

Jon Aguiar was just spotted making a quick exit from the room, and a stop by his (former) table saw the unknown Frenchman stacking the rest of FatalError's chips.

After an unlucky couple weeks in Europe, Aguiar's trip is finally over.

Negreanu KOs Van Zadelhoff

Daniel Negreanu moved all in for 19,300 and was called by Steven Van Zadelhoff. It was Van Zadelhoff who was at risk however, because Negreanu had him covered.

Negreanu: {a-Hearts}{3-Clubs}
Van Zadelhoff: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}

The flop came down {a-Spades}{4-Hearts}{q-Clubs}, giving Negreanu the lead. The turn was the {10-Clubs} and the river the {j-Diamonds}. Van Zadelhoff's chips were pushed to Negreanu and he now sits with just over 30,000.

Blom Goes the Dynamite

Blom all smiles after that
Blom all smiles after that
Viktor Blom has been bleeding chips over the last level, and he finally found a spot to commit his remaining 13,100. Blom got them in there after Markus Golser opened the pot to 3,100. The action wasn't done yet, though, as Isabelle Mercier came back over the top with a reraise to 28,000. Golser quickly folded his pocket eights, and Blom was officially at risk at the hands of Mercier. Cards up:

Blom: {K-Clubs} {K-Hearts}
Mercier: {J-Spades} {J-Hearts}

The {8-Diamonds} on the flop hit Golser like a blowdart, and he almost fell backwards out of his chair. In the end, the board of {5-Clubs} {3-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {3-Spades} was safe for Blom, and he's found his first small double up back to about 32,000.

Break it Down

We've played through Level 8, and the players have been sent off for a 10-minute break. The reason? The EPT Live crew has to get to bed, so they're going to bring the featured table back down onto the floor with the rest of the field, and we'll play on for three more levels on our own.
