Leonzio's Mistake Costs Him Dear

Marco Leonzio - Not. A. Happy. Bunny.

Dmitry Gromov opened preflop to 28,000 from UTG and Konsta Vesterinen 3-bet two seats down to 63,000. Marco Leonzio called but hadn't actually seen the 3-bet, he had only been planning to call the Russian's open but now found himself cold-calling the 3-bet out of position.

Gromov now also called to see a {A-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} flop which was checked to Vesterinen who bet 76,000. Leonzio now check-raised all-in and Gromov quickly called.

"Call, call, yes call," said Vesterinen quickly turning over {A-Diamonds} {A-Spades} and Leonzio now was crestfallen, turning over {6-Spades} {6-Hearts} for the underset.

"No six!" pleaded Vesterinen as though the case six was ready to strike but the {Q-Hearts} came on the turn, "No six, no heart!" as the begging grew stronger. The river was the {Q-Spades} and Vesterinen doubled up to 700,000 while Leonzio dropped to 570,000.

"I'm sorry," said the winner, though probably not too sorry.
