It Just Aint Happening For Liv Boeree

Team Pokerstars Pro Liv Boeree just cannot get any momentum going this evening over at table 26.

A player limps under the gun and Boeree makes the raise to 2,100 in early position and Vicent Bosca Ramon makes the four-bet on the button to 5,300 and she surrenders her hand.

A few hands later and there is a raise from middle position to 1,700 and Boeree makes the call in the small blind. The flop is {3-Diamonds} {q-Clubs} {7-Diamonds}, Boeree checks and her opponent bets 2,850 again forcing the fold from the Team Pokerstars Pro.

Boeree ~ 16,400

Go Johnny Go Go Go!

Team Pokerstars Pro Johnny Lodden is playing excellently today and his stack is growing by the minute.

There was a raise from mid position and Lodden called from the cut off. The flop was {k-Clubs} {6-Hearts} {2-Spades} and the initial raiser made the continuation bet to 3,100 and Lodden raised to 8,450 forcing the fold.

This is how it has been going for Lodden today.

Vaserfirer-ing On All Cylinders

Oleksandr Vaserfirer is up to 95,000 chips after showing relentless agression from the big blind position.

On a {a-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop, Marcel Luske checked in the small blind, Vaserfirer bet 7,000, the player in middle position called and Luske got out of the way.

Turn: {7-Spades}

Vaserfirer now increased his bet size, firing 11,000 chips. After a brief pause, his opponent called.

Some of you may remember Mr Vaserfirer from his third place finish at 2009 EPT Warsaw, he will be hoping to go at least one better here in Barcelona this week.

River: {j-Hearts}

Vaserfirer bet 25,500 and realising he was either well beaten or going to have to play for the majority of his stack to find out, his opponent folded.

Cowboys Lasso Half of Houghton's Stack

Laurence Houghton opened for 2,000 and faced a reraise to 5,000 from a gent across the table. Houghton announced all in to cover the gent, who swiftly called with a sage nod, and Houghton's stack would be bisected by the end of the hand.

Houghton: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
All-In Gent: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Board: {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

The gent with the kings gave a little fist pump while he took possession of the pot. They're at 35,000 apiece after that, but moving in opposite directions.

Rufas Is Ruthless

Luis Rufas
Luis Rufas

Current chipleader, Luis Rufas shows no sign of taking his foot off the gas, as he continues to splash chips around like they are going out of fashion.

His early postion raised to 2,500, two folds later and the action was on the man with the monster stack. A quick check of his cards and he three-bet to 8,200, folding out everyone else at the table, including the initial raiser, who accidentally revealed {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} as he mucked his hand.

Rufas' stack grows past the 220,000 mark

No Clemency for Clemencon

Tristan Clemencon
Tristan Clemencon

Tristan Clemencon shoved under the gun for just 13,475 and a few seats down Jan Collado made the call. On their backs, gentlemen.

Clemencon: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Collado: {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}

It was a real up-and-down sort of board for Clemencon, but it ended on a down. Clemencon made the final table at the WPT in Barcelona a few months back, but he's not going to do it this time at the EPT as he is now busted. COllado is at 67,000.

Hong Looking Flushed

Catherine Hong
Catherine Hong

Catherine Hong, girlfriend of Bertrand "Elky" Grospellier has just taken a big hit to her stack after she made a great on the flop.

She opened from early position with a raise to 2,700 and only the big blind called.

Flop: {3-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{8-Spades} The big blind instantly moves all-in, for a total of 17,800 chips, a huge overbet. From the look on Hong's face she was frantically trying to put him on a hand and after about a minute she decided she had the best hand and made the call.

Mr Overbet: {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Hong: {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

Hong was in front with top pair but had to avoid a seven, nine or queen

Turn: {K-Diamonds} A bad card for Hong as it gave her opponent more outs to a flush draw.

River: {Q-Diamonds} Wow! Not only did Mrs Elky's hand lose to a flush, it lost to a runner-runner straight flush!

Hong is now down to around 18,000
