Surinder's "Sunar" is Switched on and in Good Working Order

PokerStars Online Qualifier Frank Kasbergen has been eliminated at the hands of Surinder Sunar. Sunar who cashed at EPT Vienna called the all-in of Kasbergen pre flop. Kasbergen held a pair of eights and Sunar was just one notch higher with a pair of nines. The board was no help to Kasbergen and he was eliminated.

"Good Call" said one of the players to Sunar.

"Well. That was the only hand I was beating." Said Sunar

Big Stacks Clash On Table 28

An interesting battle has commenced over on Table 28 between two big stacks in the shape of Roberto Romanello and Team PokerStars Leo Fernandez.

Fernandez, the Argentina Team Pro, raised the action with a 3,800 bet from under the gun. Romanello methodically counted out 11,100 worth of chips and placed them in the middle of the felt. Fernandez, placing his shades on his face, made the call.

"We'll see what happens," he said as the deal prepared to deal the flop.

Flop: {2-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} - Both players quickly checked the ace-high flop

Turn: {3-Hearts} - Again, Fernandez checked, which seemed to puzzle Romanello as he sat motionless except for his right hand riffling a pile of black chips. After two whole minutes, he made a bet of 21,700, which turned out to be enough to win the hand, as Fernandez mucked.

"I believe you this time," said the Argentinian, which received no repsonse from his Welsh opponent

Romanello now has 170,000 whilst Fernandez slips to 194,000

Helppi Not Forthcoming

Not long after doubling through Antonio Matias, Juha Helppi met his end at the hands of the same.

We didn't see it ourselves, but Mr. Matias was kind enough to fill us in after the event. Matias said that he had made a small raise with {8-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Helppi called with pocket sixes. The flop came a fateful {4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{6-Hearts} making Helppi top set but making Matias a flush. The chips went in, "Nothing more came for (Helppi)," as Matias put it, and he was gone.

Matias is at 115,000 now.

Table 26

We have just been watching the action over at Table 26.

Giacomo Maisto is occupying seat 2. Maisto cashed at EPT Vilamoura in 53rd place and a few weeks ago bettered that performance with a 20th place finish at EPT Vienna.

Maria Maceiras is occupying seat 8. Maceiras cashed at EPT Berlin and also EPT Vienna.

Another interesting face on table 26 is Michael Binger. Binger finished yesterday with 84,200 in chips but has had a mishap somewhere along the way today because he is down to 32,000.

The chip leader at the table is Shander De Vries sat in seat 3.

In a few hands at the table we caught an all-in between Maisto and Maceiras. Maisto had {a-Diamonds} {k-Spades} and Maceiras a dominated {a-Hearts} {10-Spades}. Maceiras tournament was on the line but a rivered {10-Diamonds} saved the day for the Spanish pro.

A few hands later Ka Kwan Lau opened to 3,700 from early position and Maisto and De Vries called in the blinds. The flop was {7-Diamonds} {10-Spades} {4-Diamonds} and both blinds checked before De Vries made the continuation bet to 5,500. Maisto folded and De Vries called. The turn was {j-Clubs} and De Vries checked and Lau bet again to the tune of 10,500 and once again the table chip leader called. The river was the {k-Clubs} and both players checked. De Vries took the pot down with {j-Spades} {9-Clubs} much to the obvious disgust of Lau who mucked the {a-} {10-}.

De Vries ~ 211,000

Haykel Vidal Eliminates Vasili Karpenkou

One of the chip leaders who made it through from day 1b was Haykel Vidal. It seems he has continued where he left off as he eliminated Vasili Karpenkou in this hand.

All the money went in on the flop with Karpenkou holding a pair of aces and Vidal holding {5-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds}. The flop was {3-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {6-Hearts} and Vidal needed a 5 or an 8 to win the hand. The {9-Clubs} turn was no help for Vidal but the {5-Hearts} river was.

Stani Busted

We're down another EPT champion as Kevin Stani, victor at the inaugural EPT Tallinn, four-bet all in with pocket aces and got called by Vicent Bosca Ramon holding pocket kings. Everything was fine until the river, which was a king, and Stani duly busted out.
