Sofia Lovgren raised to 800 preflop and John Eames, fresh from his 3rd place in Copenhagen, called from the cutoff while Alessio Isaia made the call in the big blind.
The flop was checked over to Eames who fired out 1,500. Isaia made the call and Lovgren quickly got out of the way. Both players carefully checked the on the turn before Isaia checked a third time, on the river.
Eames carefully put out a bet of 4,000 and the Italian thought for several minutes, carefully studying his opponent before eventually folding.
As it turns out Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier is only around six hours late instead of the predicted seven. He managed to arrive just as the antes kicked in, meaning that he is now in possession of around 25,000 - not bad, considering that he's been blinded off for five levels now.
Fabrizio Ascari, the flamboyant Italian who went deep in Vilamoura, amusing and irritating people in equal measure with his style has been eliminated. He was all-in with against Cristian Tardea's but the board came and Ascari was out.
No histrionics, no deep sighs, just a few handshakes and wishes of good luck...
Martin Finger has just added more than 3,700 chips to his stack after locking horns with Italian Alessio Isaia.
Finger opened the betting with a raise to 700 from middle position and next to act was Isaia who pumped it up to 1,800. Everyone folded back around to Finger and he put in the required chips to call.
The dealer put the flop on the table, Finger checked and then quickly called when Isaia made a bet of 1,400. After burnign a card the dealer brought the on the turn and this time when Finger checked Isaia checked behind.
The river saw the make an appearance and after a brief pause Finger bet 7,500, which seemed to puzzle Isaia as he squirmed in his seat and looked genuinely surprised. So surprised that he folded his hand and let Finger scoop the pot.
Martin Jacobson, currently doomed as the EPT's bridesmaid thanks to two 2nd places at this season's EPT is going well once again here at Snowfest with around 45,000 - well above average. He had reraised to 2,350 from the small blind against Andreas Berggren's button open of 750 before Alex Isaza made it 6,200 in the big blind with just 13,600 behind. Berggren quickly folded but Jacobson asked for a count before setting his American opponent all-in.
Isaza snap-folded, it's an easy game when you have it...
Matthias De Meulder opened for 700 and Jeff Sarwer flat-called behind before Kevin Vandersmissen in the big blind re-raised to 3,400. De Meulder folded, but Sarwer now went all in for 20,550 - a somewhat mistimed move, as it turned out, as Vandersmissen called and they were on their backs.
Vandersmissen:
Sarwer:

"Meh, I was live," mused Sarwer philosophically as he exited the tournament area for a lengthy unscheduled dinner break. Vandersmissen, already an enormous stack before the hand, is now our runaway chip leader on 115,000.
Because of the large field today, the TD has decided to send the players to dinner in shifts. So while half of the field is now heading off on a two hour sojourn to the buffet, the other half will just be taking a regular 15 minute break and then go straight into Level 5. In two hours' time they'll swap. Your live reporting team will continue to bring you coverage throughout this whole process, admirably resisting the buffet for now.
