Wilinofsky Not Quite Centurion But Definitely in Charge

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Ben Wilinofsky raised to 1,025 under the gun and it folded all the way around to the gentleman in the big blind (astoundingly, there are a few people in this incredibly stacked field whose faces we do not recognise). Mr. Big Blind called, and they saw a flop.

Flop: {2-Spades}{5-Clubs}{8-Spades}

Mr. Big Blind checked to Wilinofsky who bet 1,500. After a short pause, Mr. BB called.

Turn: {10-Hearts}

Again, Mr. BB checked, and Wilinofsky now bet 2,500. This time the pause from Mr. BB was rather longer, but he eventually called again.

River: {2-Clubs}

Mr. BB checked for a third and final time. Wilinofsky asked the dealer to spread the pot (it was around 12,500) before betting 35,000 to cover Mr. BB, who had around 15,000 left. The spell in the tank from Mr. BB was epic this time - after perhaps five or six minutes, the clock was called. Mr. BB attempted to extract some information from Wilinofsky via the medium of asking questions, but Wilinofsky just stared fixedly at the felt and refused to answer. Eventually, with around 20 seconds remaining, Mr. BB folded.

Wilinofsky is up to 90,000.

Ben Wilinofsky

Ben Wilinofsky just added another 30,000 to his stack when his opponent made a big shove all in on the turn of a {Q-Hearts}{5-Spades}{9-Spades}{6-Hearts} board holding {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}. The Canadian beat him into the pot and turned over {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts} for a set, just needing to avoid a gutshot-making seven on the river, which he easily did when the {2-Hearts} appeared instead.

Chips in Level 6

With his fingernails on the edge of the bustout cliff, Jonathan Duhamel, down to just over 2,000 managed to hold {A-}{K-} vs. a spin-giving {8-}{7-} to stay in the game - although his warning light is still on.

Another type of fortune has belonged to Toby Lewis this level, as every time we pass his table his stack has doubled. To be fair he was down to just 9,000 the first time, but this remarkable level has brought him back to 45,000 from which vantage point he can begin to disturb his table once again.

Down-'Tern

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Arnaud Mattern is no longer among the chip leaders - in fact, he's barely above average.

He told us that he raised in the cutoff with pocket tens and his fellow Team PokerStars Pro Lex Veldhuis reraised him from the button. Mattern four-bet, Veldhuis went all in, Mattern snap-called - and Veldhuis' {a-}{j-} promptly hit to double him up to 50,000. Mattern was left with 37,000.

Theo Jorgensen
Theo Jorgensen

Theo Jorgensen is out of the Main Event after losing his back-in-the-game race that could have seen him double his <10k stack. All-in preflop with {J-Spades}{J-Clubs} vs. the {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} of Anestis Pantazidis. Even for a pro as seasoned as Jorgensen, the river must have been a slight disappointment as after he'd survived a {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop and turned a third {J-Diamonds}, the {Q-Diamonds} hit to send him to the rail.

Or possibly to the €800 + €200 Random Bounty tournament just commencing on the other side of the spacious room. Or even to rail the Heads Up stage of the High Roller event, where as we write ElkY is heads up with Benny Spindler.

Jude Ainsworth
Jude Ainsworth

Jude Ainsworth continues to grind out today, the big blind check-called his bet of 2,600 on a flop of {9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs} but then tank-folded when the Irishman bet 3,500 on the {Q-Hearts} turn. It's a tough looking table which also contains Word Champion Jonathan Duhamel and also former Snowfest runner-up Russell Carson.

Left With a Bowl

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Kyle Bowker, who finished 3rd at EPT London, has been crippled losing a 70,000 chip pot which looked to have gone all in preflop. The board read {7-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and his opponet's {A-Spades}{A-Clubs} was the winning hand, Bowker having to hand over 35,000 or so of his once chunky stack.
