Kamal Choraria and Xuan Liu

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 3,000 ante

Xuan Liu had made a standard raise from the hi-jack and Kamal Choraria had defended his big blind. There was a flop of {6-Spades} {k-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} and Choraria took over the betting lead with a bet of 60,000. Liu then popped it up to 160,000 and Choraria's reaction was to quickly pop it up to 360,000. He sat back and crossed his arms and his chest was moving in and out at a very fast rate. Liu studied her opponent and eventually folded her hand.

New Venue For Day Five

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 3,000 ante

The three tables have been moved into the theatre. There is a restriction of 100 people due to fire regulations which makes you wonder why they bothered to install 400 seats. Either way it has reduced the atmosphere to absolute silence. Here are the first few hands from two of the three tables.

Hand 1

Massimiliano Manigrasso was the first person to raise in the theatre. He made it 65,000 from early position and the action didn't have to go very far before the pot got somewhat larger. Andrew Teng is seated to Manigrasso's direct left and he three-bet to 171,000 and when it folded around to Manigrasso he also folded.

Hand 2

On the other table the flop of {5-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {a-Clubs} was already laid out on the felt whilst the Teng/Manigrasso hand was being played. The two players involved in the hand were Joe Cada (hi-jack) and Max Heinzelmann (cut-off) and they both checked. The turn was the {5-Hearts} and Cada took down the 150,000 pot with a 112,000 bet.

Hand 3

Xuan Liu raised to 60,000 on the button and Costantino Russo defended his big blind. We saw a flop of {q-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {7-Hearts} and a 77,000 lead by Russo won the pot.

Hand 4

Nicola Grieco raised to 90,000 from middle position and Fabrizio Cataldi defended his big blind. We had a flop of {9-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {k-Diamonds} and Cataldi came out fighting with a bet of 87,000. Grieco didn't take too kindly to the aggressive assault by Cataldi and he raised to 200,000. Cataldi didn't even look at his opponent, his mind was already made up, as he re-raised to 345,000. Grieco asked Cataldi for a count before eventually folding his hand.

Fabbrini Doubles Up

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 3,000 ante
Marco Fabbrini
Marco Fabbrini

Marco Fabbrini was all in for his last 260,000 preflop with {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} against Team PokerStars Pro Max Lykov's {K-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, the flop hit both coming {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs} but the {J-Clubs} turn had Fabbrini sweating. The [8h came on the river, trips for Lykov but no good against the Italian's full house. He doubles up to about 550,000

Delay

There's been a late decision to film today's proceedings by an Italian film crew, but this won't be on EPT Live. This means it will be almost impossible for us to get anywhere near the 'feature' table today. That entire area is on lockdown so it's unlikely we'll be able to get any details for players on this table at any point during the day.

Despite being told to the contrary last night, the tournament has been moved downstairs into the theatre stage area. We'll be getting underway shortly.

Ladies & Gentlemen It's Day 5 of EPT San Remo

Casino San Remo
Casino San Remo

We are down to the final 24 players. Everyone left in the field is guaranteed at least €25,000 for just taking their seat today. But who is going to walk away with the massive first prize of €930,000? Unfortunately, we won't find out today because our mission is to trim those 24 players down to a final table of eight.

Team Pokerstars Pros Max Lykov and Joe Cada are both ominously lurking behind the front three. Both players have been here, seen it, done it and bought either the EPT Main Event or WSOP Main Event t-shirts. EPT Berlin runner-up Max Heinzelmann is in the top ten and is looking to make it back-to-back final tables.

But it is the red hot Nicolas Yunis from Chile who is the only player above 2 million in chips. Can he keep hold of the top stop?

This process begins at 12:00 (CET) and we will be bringing all of the thrills and spills right here. You would be foolish not to join us.
