End of Day 3

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Roberto Spada
Roberto Spada

Play has now finished for the day with 60 players left with Italian Roberto Spada at the top on 1,441,000. The Italian won a huge pot to put him up to the million mark when he made a flush holding {q-Spades}{j-Spades} on a {k-Spades}{8-Clubs}{4-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{3-Spades} board and got paid off by Alessandro Fasolis' entire stack. This, combined with several decent sized pots put him ahead of Team PokerStars Pro Max Lykov to go into Day 4 as our chip leader.

Lykov remains in joint second place with 1,416,000 alongside Nicolas Yunis who has exactly the same amount while Paolo Rigano is in 4th place with 1,324,000. Other players still in the tournament the other former EPT winner David Vamplew (Lykov being the first) as well as former WSOP Main Event Champion, Team PokerStars Pro Joe Cada. They'll all join Ludovic Lacay, Fabrice Soulier and Richard Toth on Day 4 of this event as we play down to the final 24 players.

We'll be starting once again at 12pm (CET). See you then!

Bluffing at the Death

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

While everyone else was bagging and tagging, Max Heinzelmann had fired out 118,000 on the river of a {k-Spades}{8-Spades}{4-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} board against Davide Toni. The Italian tanked for several minutes before folding and Heinzelmann turned over {9-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for complete air.

Toni gave the German a look of disgust while Heinzelmann simply began to stack his chips and tried really hard not to burst out laughing (it was a borderline failure).

Play has now finished for the day.

Hot Cole

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

A short preflop raising war resulted in Cole Robinson all in with {a-Spades}{9-Spades} from the button against Max Heizelmann's {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} in the cutoff.

Board: {5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

Robinson doubled to 385,000 and Heinzelmann' was left with 490,000.

Phillips Carted Off

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Carter Phillips
Carter Phillips

Carter Phillips, short stacked for some time, got his last in with {a-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and found himself up against Samer Rahman's {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}. There was no help for him on the {7-Hearts}{a-Spades}{4-Spades}{q-Clubs}{j-Spades} board, and the EPT Barcelona winner was out of the running just as the last three hands were announced.

Gaarded Response

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Vegard Nygaard just doubled up his paltry 63,000 stack from the small blind through big blind Nicolas Yunis when the Norwegian's {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} managed to river a straight against Yunis' {k-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} on a board of {5-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Clubs}{4-Hearts}. It's only a drop in Yunis' stack and Nygaard still has a short stack.

Seat of Death...

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Exit 1: Kevin Vandersmissen has been eliminated after he reraised all-in with {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} against Andrew Teng but found the Brit holding {k-}{k-} to eliminate him.

Exit 2: Muhamet Perati comes into Vandersmissen's seat, sits down and immediately moves all-in for about 130,000 over the top of Gerardo Godinez Estrada's opening raise to 25,000. A quick call from the Mexican with {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}, Perati turned over {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and missed the {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} board.

Exit 3: Former Snowfest runner-up Russell Carson comes in and sits down in the empty seat, Joe Cada and Ludovic Lacay both point out what had happened to the last two players in the last two hands. Carson moved all in from UTG with {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}, Lacay quickly calls in the big blind with {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. The board comes {j-Hearts}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and we lose yet another player.

Avoid that seat people...

Cole Gets Burned

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Max Heinzelmann
Max Heinzelmann

Max Heinzelmann is back up to 550,000 after betting out over 100,000 on the river of a {2-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{9-Spades} board, with not much more than that behind. Cole Robinson flat-called, but mucked his hand and dropped to 350,000 when Heinzelmann turned over {q-}{9-} for trips. He's at 550,000 after that.
