Time for a Cup of Coffee
Yup, its break time.
Yup, its break time.
Casey Kastle rasied to 20,000 in early position and Max Heinzelmann called in the hijack before former chip leader Georgios Manousos reraised to 56,500 in the cutoff. Kastle tanked for some minutes before pushing all in. Heinzelmann folded, but Manousos quietly pushed his stack across the line and they were on their backs.
Kastle:
Manousos:
Board:
It took a while for the stacks to be assessed, but it was eventually found that Kastle covered Manousos who doubled to 480,000. Kastle was left with just 30,000 as they headed into the break.
Victor Ramdin is out. We didn't catch the action but we suspect that it was preflop, Ramdin's playing Nicolas Yunis' , and the nine on the board was enough to put an end to Ramdin's EPT hopes.
Aku Matti Joentausta and Nicolas Yunis got involved in a huge 800,000 pot getting all the money in preflop with and , a fact not lost on the nearby Victor Ramdin.
The board came out and Yunis took the entire pot, boosting his stack to 800,000.
Roberto Spada has just eliminated another player and now has 700,000. Spada was holding and Valerio Mattera . No ace on the flop and it was goodbye to Mattera.
Andrew Teng has had a very exciting end to this level.
First of all, he was all in with against Germano Martucci's but really had to sweat the board of and breathed a sigh of relief when the river was a black card.
A couple of hands level and Teng was tangling with another Italian on the river of a board, the Englishman had bet 55,000 on the end only for Nicola Boldini to check-raise him to 121,000. Teng tanked eventually folding and Boldini fake-wiped the sweat off his brow and turned over for a missed gutshot.
Teng has about 500,000 still.
Georgios Manousos started the day as our chip leader but it has all gone wrong. He now has 240,000 after losing another pot; this time to Max Heinzelmann.
There was a pre flop raising war and Manousos pulled a 112,500 four-bet out of the bag before Heinzelmann moved all-in forcing the Grecian to fold.
Heinzelmann ~ 460,000
Gianluca Benvenuto is on a personal crusade to remove all of the Americans from his table. He eliminated Vanessa Selbst, crippled Carter Phillips and just came one card away from eliminating former world champion Joe Cada.
Cada raised to 14,000 on the button, the small blind called before Benvenuto squeezed out a three-bet from the big blind. We were unable to count the bet size before Cada moved all-in. Benvenuto asked for a quick count and then made the call.
Cada:
Benvenuto:
Benvenuto was on the verge of becoming our chip leader. He had his eyes closed and was muttering some words to himself.
Flop:
Turn:
Benvenuto was still talking to himself but he opened his eyes. Cada pushed his chair back and began to stand up.
River:
Cada sat back down while the dealer handed him 550,000 and Benvenuto got a consolatory pat on the back from a colleague - he now has 630,000
We're not sure when the chips went in but we are certain that Erion Islamay is out, his not as good as online qualifier Joe Coraci's pocket at the end of a board.
Nicola Grieco was all in with against Andrey Zaichenko's and exploded with joy when the board ran out to make him a flush. He doubled to 175,000 and Zaichenko was left with 260,000. "Cigarette cigarette," he told the table and started towards the door. He quickly came back when he realised that it was his big blind - but then went for a cigarette after all when he was issued with a penalty for excessive celebration.
