More of the Same

Level 34 : 120,000/240,000, 30,000 ante

The first few hands of the level saw a lot of blind stealing with 500,000 button raises and one three-bet shove from Eugene Katchalov that got through.

The last hand saw Dragan Kostic raise the usual 500,000 and both blinds calling. All three checked the {2-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop before Martin Schleich led for 800,000 on the {8-Diamonds} turn. Both opponents folded.

Schleich On the Comeback

Level 33 : 100,000/200,000, 30,000 ante

Martin Schleich was chip leader at the beginning of this level but doubling up Eugene Katchalov put him in real trouble. Not any more!

First of all he won 850,000 off Dragan Kostic and then he doubled-up to eight million through him. Kostic raised from the small blind and snap called when Schleich moved all-in from the big blind.

Kostic: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Schleich: {a-Hearts}{5-Clubs}

The board ran {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{5-Spades} to see Schleich hit his five on the river. He genuinely looked embarrassed by the situation and sat back down in his seat. Kostic is now the short stack with less than seven million chips.

Katchalov Doubles Through Schleich

Level 33 : 100,000/200,000, 30,000 ante

From the small blind, Martin Schleich raised to 500,000. Eugene Katchalov called from the big blind and the flop came down {A-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}. Schleich bet 400,000 and Katchalov made the call.

The turn was {Q-Hearts} and Schleich fired 800,000. Katchalov raised all in for 2.885 million and Schleich called after only a few seconds of thought. He held the {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}, but was behind Katchalov's {Q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}.

The river completed the board with the {4-Diamonds} and Katchalov's turned two pair held up. He doubled up to around 7.5 million.

Kostic Empties the Clip

Level 33 : 100,000/200,000, 30,000 ante
Dragan Kostic
Dragan Kostic

It has been all Dragan Kostic this level. His latest win came when he fired three barrels into Eugene Katchalov on a {7-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{6-Clubs} board. The amounts were 250,000 on the flop, 550,000 on the turn and 1,450,000 on the river.

Katchalov looked a little distraught when he faced the river bet and slid his cards into the muck. Katchalov is now the short stack on 3.6 million.

River Overbetting

Level 33 : 100,000/200,000, 30,000 ante

One thing we haven't seen from Martin Schleich today is river over-betting (I think), but that just changed.

He raised from the button and Dragan Kostic called from the big blind. Both checked the flop and Kostic check-called a 275,000 bet on the turn. The final board read {5-Clubs}{a-Spades}{6-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and Kostic checked for a third time. Schleich bet a polarising 1,375,000 and that was too much for Kostic to call.
