Aasmaa Uses His One-Time

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Local player Raigo Aasmaa has just survived an all in encounter despite being up against the overpair of Nikolas Liakos. There was a flurry of activity that resulted in Aasmaa moving all in from the button for his last 17,600 and he was called by Liakos in the cutoff.

As Aasmaa saw that his {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} was crushed by the {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} of his opponent. "One time?" said Aasmaa sheepishly. And it worked as the flop came down {3-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{9-Hearts} followed by the {A-Diamonds} turn and the {8-Spades} river ti double up the Estonian.

Double Up for Sam El Sayed

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Carl Carlsson and Sam El Sayed have been verbal sparring partners all day long and so it was fitting that it was Sam El Sayed who called Carlsson's final all-in.

Both of them were desperately short but it was Sam El Sayed who will live to fight another day after eliminating Carlsson.

El Sayed{k-Hearts} {k-Diamonds}

Board: {5-Spades} {4-Diamonds} {k-Clubs} {q-Spades} {8-Clubs}

Smelly Raise?

John Eames
John Eames

John Eames added over 12,000 to his stack with a little raise on a flop that five players got to see and not one of them wanted to take him on.

The flop came down {9-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{5-Clubs} and current champion, Kevin Stani, took a stab with a 3,000 bet. Chris Brammer called but Eames made it 8,600 to go from the button. Surprisingly everyone folded very quickly. The British star is on just shy of 60,000 chips now.

Don't you just hate it when you are watching a hand build up and it ends up like a damp squid!

Nichlas Mattson had raised pre flop and PokerStars qualifier Gerhard Bauer three-bet to 2,875 from the small blind. Mattson four-bet to 6,400 and things got really excited when Bauer started acting like the his namesake from "24" when he five-bet to 11,600. Mattson then six-bet shoved and and Bauer called.

Bauer{a-Clubs} {k-Hearts}

There were no jaw dropping flush draws on the board and we were as it was boys.

Team PokerStars Pro Ville Wahlbeck is on 47,000 chips after a four-way pot went well for him.

He raised to 950 from second position and picked up three callers en route to an {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop.

Jens Kläning took a stab with a 1,700 bet but both Wahlbeck and Natalia Nikitina (small blind) called before all three checked the {6-Diamonds} turn.

The river came {8-Clubs} and Wahlbeck over-bet to the tune of 10,000 and Nikitina looked him up. He tabled the nuts with {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and she mucked to drop to 35,000.

Oscar Lima is Our New Chip Leader

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Oscar Lima raised from early position making it 1,000 to play. There was a cold caller behind before Andrea Benelli three-bet out of the small blind making it 5,300. After studying the size of Benelli's chip stack Lima made the call and the cold-caller folded.

Flop: {7-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {q-Hearts}

Benelli came out fighting with a bet of 6,150 and Lima called.

Turn: {j-Clubs}

Benelli checked and Lima went for the jugular with a 10,500 bet and after spending most of the break pondering his decision Benelli folded.

Lima ~ 130,000
