Straight Over Straight

With approximately 25,000 in the middle on the {K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{10-Hearts} board, Athanasios Polychronopoulos checked to Basil Yaiche with 17,500 behind. Yaiche took his time and then fired 7,500 with 21,625 back. After a couple minutes of tanking, Polychronopoulos made the call.

Yaiche held the {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for an ace-high straight, having flopped the good. Polychronopoulos showed the {10-Spades}{9-Spades} having flopped the low end of the straight. He lost the pot and was kicked back to 10,000 in chips.

Lodden Doubles Up

From the cutoff seat, Team PokerStars Pro Johnny Lodden raised to 450. Fellow Team Pro Lex Veldhuis reraised to 1,500 from the button and then action folded to Georges Yazbeck in the big blind. He called, then Lodden called.

The flop came down {K-Spades}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs} and action checked to Veldhuis. He bet 3,000 and Yazbeck called. Lodden then check-raised to 8,500. With 17,150 behind, Veldhuis took some time and then folded. Yazbeck had other things in mind and reraised all in for 27,025. Lodden quickly called all in for less at 16,950 total.

Lodden tabled the {10-Spades}{6-Spades} for a combo draw and was up against the {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} for Yazbeck.

The turn was the {9-Clubs} to give Lodden a straight and now he just needed to dodge a board pair on the river to stay alive.

The river completed the board with the {10-Clubs} and Lodden was safe. He doubled to over 40,000 while Veldhuis gave him a little friendly needle about how badly he plays.

No Treys Full for Mercier

From the cutoff seat, Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier raised to 400. Zachary Clark called from the big blind after a sip of his coffee and the flop came down {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. Clark checked and Mercier bet 350. Clark made the call.

The turn was the {Q-Clubs} and both players checked. The also checked the {2-Spades} that landed on the river. Clark turned over the {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts} and Mercier the {3-Spades}{3-Clubs}. Clark's hand won and Mercier's hand was mucked.

New Players, A Couple Bustouts and Updated Chip Counts

Misclick Doesn't Cost Boeree

Liv Boeree's mind seemed a little absent when the action reached her. She reached for a purple 500 denomination chip and announced a raise. What she hadn't realised was that Flavius Puica had already raised to 525 from the under-the-gun seat. The Team PokerStars Pro was forced min raise to 850 and the bet was called by Puica.

The flop came down {3-Spades}{4-Clubs}{a-Spades} and both players checked to the {6-Diamonds} turn. The Romanian led for 1,100 and and Boeree casually called to the {9-Spades} river where she faced a check. She bet 2,100 and Puica check-called but mucked upon seeing her {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a rivered two-pair. Puica just shook his head.

Minieri Checks Himsekf into Value Town

Dario Minieri is back below his starting stack after barreling into a better made hand.

The Team PokerStars Pro opened to 500 from under the gun and was called by two players keen on seeing the {j-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop. Minieri continued for 925 and was called by both opponents. The turn fell as {4-Spades} and Mineri's second barrel for 2,325 was only check-called by Emile Petit from the small blind.

The river was {8-Clubs} and Petit checked to face a 4,225 bet from his Italian opponent. He took longer this time but still called with {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}, beating out Minieri's {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}.
