Six-Bet Shove from Sahamies Earns Him the Chip Lead

After Ilari Sahamies had raised on the button with {Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, Joni Jouhkimainen three-bet to 1.175 million from the small blind holding {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Sahamies must have known something was up as he four-bet to 2 million, but Jouhkimainen didn't back down and five-bet to 3.12 million. Sahamies wasted little time in six-betting all in, and then showed his hand when Jouhkimainen folded.

With that, Sahamies has taken over the chip lead.

Pobal Checks Behind River with Nuts and Receives Penalty

Level 33 : 100,000/200,000, 30,000 ante

From the button, Mikalai Pobal raised with the {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Joni Jouhkimainen made the call from the big blind with the {K-Spades}{9-Spades}. On the flop, the {K-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} fell and Jouhkimainen picked up top pair to take the lead. He checked to Pobal, who bet his flush draw for 450,000. Jouhkimainen called.

The turn was the {3-Diamonds} and both players checked to see the {7-Hearts} land on the river. Jouhkimainen checked to Pobal, who had rivered the nuts with an ace-high heart flush. Despite having the nuts, Pobal checked behind.

The two players turned up their hands and everyone saw that Pobal had the nuts. He also realized this and threw himself back in his chair in surprise before being pushed the pot. The floor was called in to make a ruling and because Pobal checked behind with the nuts, he was given a one-round penalty.

Pobal Turns a Straight

Level 33 : 100,000/200,000, 30,000 ante

With 1,090,000 already in the pot and the board reading {9-Spades} {2-Spades} {6-Clubs} Joni Jouhkimainen checked in the big blind holding {A-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} and Mikalai Pobal checked behind with {10-Spades} {8-Hearts}.

The {7-Diamonds} on the turn completed Pobal's straight draw and was followed by a bet of 425,000 by the Belorussian and Jouhkimainen check-called. The Finn then lead with a 1,000,000 bet on the {4-Diamonds} river and Pobal reraised to 3,000,000. Jouhkimaine took his time before making the decision and finally made a smart fold.

It was an unusual sight to watch all three players go into the flop. With 810,000 already in the pot and the board reading {4-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} Ilari Sahamies bet 400,000 from the small blind holding {9-Clubs} {6-Hearts}.

Joni Jouhkimainen folded {5-Clubs} {3-Clubs} and Mikalai Pobal raised to 1,200,000 with {10-Hearts} {7-Hearts}. Sahamies made the call and the dealer opened {J-Clubs} on the turn. Sahamies checked and Pobal fired 2,200,000. Sahamies didn't go along and mucked his hand.
