A Taust to Victory

Aku Joentausta continues to head the right way, he's just knocked out Elie Saad when he flopped {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} against the Lebanese player's {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs} on a {3-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} flop. Saad saw some outs on the {J-Clubs} turn but the {3-Diamonds} gave the Finn a full house to increase his stack.

Flower Power No Good Against Hille

Action folded to Randal Flowers in the hijack and he raised to 4,000. Elisabeth Hille, the 11th-place finished from this year's World Series of Poker Main Event, proceeded to three-bet to 10,300 from the big blind, Flowers called, and the flop came down {6-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}.

From there, Flowers led out for 8,500, Hille called, and the {4-Diamonds} turned. Again Flowers bet, this time 9,200, and Hille called. The {A-Spades} river saw Flowers slow down with a check, and Hille took the opportunity to fire out 12,000, a little less than half her remaining stack. Flowers quickly folded and Hille took down the pot without a showdown.

Karamalikis Let's It Go

We stumbled upon a hand with around 20,000 in the pot and a board reading {10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}. Jonathan Karamalikis was in the tank after betting 8,000 from the small blind and being raised to 20,000 by Alejandro Perez Torres on the button. The Australian thought for a long time and eventually sent his hand to the muck.

Shark's Finn

According to a Finnish colleague, "I don't know what he's doing, every time I go back he has even more chips."

Edit: We have a few more details on the big pot that got Ilari Sahamies. An opponent shoved a massive 200,000 into him with {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs} whilst the Finn was sat there with {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}. The board ran an exciting {a-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}.

When to Holden and When to Fold 'em

Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Just as the flop was being dealt, Daniel Negreanu was telling Sam Holden, "I have a good hand..."

The board came out {J-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Spades} and Holden led out for 6,100 which Negreanu thought about then made the call.

The {4-Clubs} came on the turn and Holden didn't hesitate for too long before leading for 14,500. Again Negreanu thought before mucking and then said, "I had a good hand...You have a better one or you were going to get there!"

Kid Poker has about 50,000 left and is going to be looking for a double up before the end of the day.

Cody Four Flushes Puchkov

Konstantin Puchkov, who finished third in this very event back in Season 7 for €300,000, raised to 4,500 from early position and cleared the field to Jake Cody, who moved all in for 55,400 from the button. The blinds both folded and Puchkov slid in a call.

Showdown

Puchkov{A-Spades}{K-Spades}
Cody{A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}

The dynamic duo held the same hand, which meant it would be a chop barring one of the players making the flush. Puchkov had a better chance of doing that with two spades in his hand, but it would be Cody who was freerolling on the {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. Puchkov looked disgusted, and even more so when the {7-Diamonds} turn gave Cody the flush. The Russian could still chop if the river put a straight flush on the board, but it wasn't in the cards as the {9-Spades} blanked.
