Theo Doesn't Get There

Jonathan Karamalikis and Theo Jorgensen
Jonathan Karamalikis and Theo Jorgensen

The WSOP bracelet winner and 2010 WPT Grand Prix de Paris champion Theo Jorgensen just suffered a huge blow after calling Frenchman Clement Bonin's shove.

With around 10,000 already in the pot and the board reading {6-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {3-Spades} Jorgensen bet 5,000 in the big blind and Bonin three-bet to 13,500. Jorgensen then fired a four-bet of 22,000 and Bonin went all-in for 81,400 and Jorgensen made the call.

The Dane opened {5-Spades} {4-Hearts} for a pair and a straight draw and Bonin flipped {Q-Hearts} {Q-Spades}. The {A-Diamonds} on the turn and {8-Hearts} on the river did not favor Jorgensen and he lost around half of his stack.

Algirdas Deals Big Hit to Ruthenberg

Saveikis Algirdas opened for 4,000 from the cutoff and received a call from Sebastian Ruthenberg on the button. A short-stacked Harald Olsen then moved all in from the big blind for around 17,000, which both Algirdas and Ruthenberg called. When the flop fell {7-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Spades}, the former led out for 28,300, Ruthenberg raised big, and Algirdas snap-called off for 87,800.

Showdown

Algirdas{K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Ruthenberg{10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Olsen{8-Spades}{8-Clubs}

All three players held pocket pairs, but Olsen was worse while Algirdas was the favorite. The {5-Clubs} turn was of no consequence, but the {8-Diamonds} river was as it allowed Olsen to collect the main pot and survive. With that said, Algirdas still won the massive side pot and dealt a blow to Ruthenberg's stack.

The Hood Runs Good

Marcos Fernandez keeps dominating his table as well as climbing up the chip ladder and is now in the top 10 in the tournament chip counts. We can't say for sure if this is because of his scary outfit, but most likely it's because of his poker skills.

Just recently he won another pot after calling Enver Khvitia's 3,500 bet preflop. They went heads up into the {4-Clubs} {6-Spades} {Q-Hearts} flop and both checked. Fernandez fired 4,200 on the {5-Diamonds} turn and Khvitia check-called.

Both checked again on the {3-Hearts} river and Fernandez flipped {A-Hearts} {5-Hearts} which was good enough for the win as Khvitia mucked his hand.

Danny Doubles

Daniel Negreanu from yesterday
Daniel Negreanu from yesterday

Daniel Negreanu is a chirpy chappy, if slightly apologetic, right now after he sucked out to double through Borge Dypvik.

The Norwegian raised to 3,500 and called when the Canadian Team PokerStars Pro shoved for 25,000 from the button.

Negreanu: {a-Spades}{4-Spades}
Dypvik: {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}

The board ran {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Hearts} to pair Negreanu's ace.
