Morten Mortensen Eliminated in 10th Place (€55,100)

Morten Mortensen
Morten Mortensen

After John Juanda had opened with a raise, a short-stacked Morten Mortensen moved all in for 235,000. Juanda didn't seem thrilled, but made a hesitant call nonetheless.

Showdown
Juanda: {5-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Mortensen: {K-Spades}{8-Hearts}

Mortensen was ahead, but Juanda got a good sweat with the {Q-Spades}{3-Clubs}{A-Spades} flop as either a deuce, five or four would give him the win. The {10-Diamonds} wasn't what he needed, but the {4-Hearts} river was. Mortensen closed his eyes for a brief moment before exiting the Main Stage in 10th place for €55,100.

Teaching A Pit-Bull To Chill

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Fatima Moreira de Melo
Fatima Moreira de Melo

Fatima Moreira de Melo made name for herself as a field hockey player who took no prisoners. A self-described pit-bull, she scrapped her way to 16th place today, her best EPT performance to date. But after appearing on “Survivor” the one time pit-bull is learning to chill, even if that can’t entirely remove the disappointment of defeat.

Slow Going

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Things have been relatively quiet since the final nine players started back up. It's a very important bubble as not only is it the TV bubble, but it comes with a pay jump as well.

The last hand featured some pre-flop betting action. John Juanda opened with a 90,000 raise from the early position and Joni Jouhkimainen on Juanda's immediate left three-bet to 200,000. Action folded to Ilari Sahamies on the button who four-bet to 540,000 and both Juanda and Jouhkimainen released their hands.

Sahamies vs. Alekberovas

Anaras Alekberovas opened for 110,000 from the hijack only to have Ilari Sahamies three-bet to 250,000 from the cutoff. After the button and blinds got out of the way, Alekberovas made the call and it was off to the {7-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{8-Spades} flop.

Alekberovas ended up check-calling a bet from Sahamies, how much we're not sure, and then both players checked the {8-Diamonds} turn. Alekberovas checked for a third time on the {A-Diamonds} river, and then snap folded when Sahamies cut out 500,000 in chip and slid them into the pot.
