Florian Dohnert is one of the shorter stacks in this tournament and as a result is currently in push-or-fold mode. It seems that the young German prefers the former because he has been all-in on three occasions during the last orbit, increasing his stack to 520,000 as a result.
From under the gun, Vladimir Geshkenbein raised to 50,000. In the small blind, Bahadir Kilickeser three-bet to 112,000 and Geshkenbein called.
The flop came down and Kilickeser bet 122,000. Geshkenbein called. The turn was the and Kilickeser bet 127,000. Geshkenbein called again. The river was the and Kilickeser checked. Geshkenbein bet 100,000 and Kilickeser folded.
On the next hand, Kilickeser raised from the button to 52,000. Geshkenbein three-bet to 140,000 from the big blind and Kilickeser folded.
Dmitry Grinenko has been eliminated from the EPT Berlin Main Event in 16th place. Maybe his solitary 25,000 chips was his lucky one?
The action folded to him in the small blind and he open-shoved for around 200,000 and Anton Wigg made the call. Grinenko turned over and Wigg flipped over . Wigg took the lead on the flop and when the turn and river were the and respectively Grinenko's tournament came to an end.
Andrew Chen is on course to making his third EPT final table and he took a couple of minutes out to talk to the PokerStars Blog at the break. Click through this link to read how he's handling the pressure.
Anton Wigg has opened a few pots today, and had been three-bet off his hand on a number of these occasions.
This happened once more before he tried again with an open to 48,000. Once more he was three-bet; this time by Davidi Kitai, but in between the two actions a player accidentally exposed .
This greatly effected the action as Wigg folded face-up and said he would've moved all-in if he didn't see the exposed queen. Pratyush Buddiga is sat next to Wigg and said, "When you win the tournament you can look back and see this as a pivotal moment."
Tomas Cibak has not been getting his own way much today and his stack has taken another big hit after he doubled up the dangerous Mario Puccini.
Our man in the TV truck, Jonathan Zinke, told us that Puccini held pocket nines. Cibak had ace-nine and the chips went in on a flop. The turn and river were blanks.
Just minutes ago we mentioned that Florian Dohnert was in push-or-fold mode and had been all-in three times in a single orbit. Now he is all-out after busting at the hands of [Removed:284].
There was a flurry of action that saw [Removed:287] open, Dohnert shove for 560,000 and [Removed:287] instantly call. As soon as Dohnert showed he stood up then turned around to see [Removed:287] had . The first four community cards were kind to Dohnert as they read but the river was the to send him to the rail just a few places short of an EPT final table.
Anton Wigg will not become the first-ever double EPT champion because he has just been sent to the rail by Vladimir Geshkenbein; now the last remaining former champ in the field.
Geshkenbein had just been moved to the table and was playing his first hand and decided to test the waters of his new shark infested home with a raise to 50,000 from the cutoff. Anton Wig three-bet but we did not get the amount because Geshkenbein shoved and Wigg snap-called him.
Wigg:
Geshkenbein:
Geshkenbein's timing way off in this hand and he looked quite embarrassed in all honesty. He said, "at least i have outs" before the dealer put out the [ flop. Both players made a pair but Wigg was way in front, that was until the landed on the turn. Wigg rose from his seat and had the look of a man who hated poker as he did so. The river was the and Wigg was eliminated from the Main Event.
Ever the gentleman, Wigg ensured he shook each and every surviving player's hand before heading to the payout desk 13 places before he wanted to.
