Welcome to Italy, Martin!

The following hand isn't that much as a stand alone post, but it shows one the opportunities to be had in Italy.

The action folded around to Michele D'Aniello in the cut-off and he raised to 500. Martin Jacobson was on the button and he three-bet to 1,500. D'Aniello seemed a little perplexed at being raised but called nonetheless.

Both players went on to check the {j-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds} board all the way to the river where D'Aniello took a stab with a massive 7,000 bet. The Swede snap folded.

Seiver Flirting With Forty

Three players including Scott Seiver and Wayne Bentley saw a flop of {3-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} fall. With over 3,000 already in the pot, Bentley led out from the small blind for 2,300. Seiver called and the third player in the hand folded.

Seiver and Bentley were heads up to the {4-Spades} turn where they both checked their option. The {6-Spades} paired the board on the river and Bentley tapped the table once more. Seiver fired out 3,600 and Bentley snap called, showing {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}.

Seiver tabled {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, however, for eights and sixes, and was able to take down the pot. With that win Seiver is sitting around 39,500 and flirting with forty-thousand in chips.

Duhamel Can't Call River

On a board of {7-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{3-Hearts}, Jonathan Duhamel checked to Timo Pfutzenreuter who fired out a bet of 1,400. Duhamel dipped into his stack and tossed out a raise to 3,850. Pfutzenreuter tanked for about a minute before finally calling.

The river brought a fourth club in the form of the {10-Clubs} and Duhamel took a long time before checking his option. Pfutzenreuter fired 5,100 and Duhamel let go of his cards, pushing the pot the way of his opponent.

WSOP Main Event Champions Seated Together

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

We strolled by a table to find 2005 World Series of Poker champion Joe Hachem seated at the same table as 2010 WSOP champion Jonathan Duhamel. While at the table, we saw Nikov Dobromir Georgiev raise to 250 from middle position. Duhamel called from the small blind and Hachem from the big.

The flop was {9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and there were two checks back to Georgiev who continued for 525. Duhamel called and Hachem got out of the way. The {9-Hearts} turned and Duhamel check-called a bet of 1,125. Both players checked the {K-Hearts} on the river and Georgiev tabled {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a busted flush draw. The Team PokerStars Pro showed {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and took down the pot.

Ladies Good for Smith

We joined the action with the board reading {Q-Clubs}{4-Spades}{6-Clubs}, and saw this season's EPT Barcelona €50,000 Super High Roller winner Dan Smith bet 600 after his opponent checked the flop. The bet was soon followed by the call.

Smith tapped the table after his opponent continued with a check after the {5-Diamonds} landed on the turn. The dealer flipped over the {A-Spades} on the river and both players checked again for a showdown.

Smith was the first to show his hand and opened the {10-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} for a pair of queens. His opponent mucked, and Smith collected the pot.

Mercier Shows a Trey

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

From the button, Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier raised to 225. Ludovic Lcay called out of the big blind, and the flop came down {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Lacay checked, and Mercier fired 200. Lacay called.

The turn brought the {7-Spades}, and both players checked. Then the {6-Hearts} paired the board on the river. Lacay fired 1,000, but Mercier raised to 3,100. Lacay folded and was shown the {3-Spades} by Mercier.

Gulyy Counterfeits Feenstra on the River

We happened upon a hand with 3,950 in the middle and a board reading {K-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{6-Spades}{J-Spades} when Andrey Gulyy checked from under the gun and Florens Feenstra bet 1,600 from the button. Gulyy then woke up with a check-raise to 4,900, Feenstra called, and the {J-Clubs} paired the board on the river.

Both players ended up checking the {J-Clubs} river and Gulyy rolled over {K-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for kings and jacks with a ten kicker. Feenstra couldn't believe it and revealed that his {K-Spades}{5-Spades} had been counterfeited on the river.
