Dinner Break Chip Counts (full)

Carmelo Vasta Eliminated in 11th Place (€32,000)

Ludovic Lacay has broken through the four-million chip-mark after he got fortunate to bust Carmelo Vasta.

The Italian raised to 125,000 and snap-called off his 760,000 chip-stack and slammed his cards down when Lacay set him all in from the big blind.

Lacay: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Vasta: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{10-Spades}.

Vasta made a straight on the river but it was too late by then as the Frenchman had already filled up by the turn.

Iulian Ruxandescu Eliminated in 12th Place (€40,000)

Over on the TV-table, Ismael Bojang opened with a raise from middle position. Iulian Ruxandescu moved all in from the blinds and it folded back to Bojang who snap called.

Bojang: {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}
Ruxandescu: {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

The flop came down {8-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and paired Ruxandescu's queen but also gave Bojang the nut flush draw.

The turn was the {K-Clubs}, which also helped both players. Ruxandescu now had two pair but was behind the ace-high flush of Bojang. Ruxandescu needed to hit one of the remaining kings or queens in order to stay alive and double up. Unfortunately for Ruxandescu, the river was the {10-Diamonds} and he was eliminated in 12th place.

Jonas Mackoff Eliminated in 13th Place (€32,000)

Just after being crippled by Amerigo Santoro, Carmelo Vasta got his chips back. He went all in from the middle position for his remaining stack of 65,000 and Santoro called from the button. Vasta showed {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts} and Santoro opened {J-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds}. It seemed all over for Vasta, but the ace on the {10-Clubs} {8-Clubs} {A-Hearts} flop was just what he needed. The turn and the river bricked and Vasta doubled up.

On the very next hand Vasta shoved again, this time for 220,000 from under the gun and Jonas Mackoff made the call, although his stack was even smaller that Vasta's. Ludovic Lacay called as well. and they went three-way into the showdown.

Showdown:
Vasta: {A-Clubs} {7-Clubs}
Lacay: {K-Hearts} {9-Clubs}
Mackoff: {5-Diamonds} {5-Clubs}

The flop ran {Q-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} giving trip aces for Vasta and putting Mackoff on the verge of elimination. The {7-Hearts} on the turn and the {Q-Diamonds} on the river didn't change anything and Mackoff was eliminated from the tournament while Vasta tripled his stack.

Tompkins and Mackoff in Huge Preflop Confrontation

Jason Tompkins
Jason Tompkins

Jason Tompkins opened with a raise to 80,000 from under the gun. It folded to Jonas Mackoff who three-bet to 190,00 from the cutoff. Cards around the table hit the muck until it was back on Tompkins who wasted no time dipping into his stack and coming out with a four-bet to 345,000.

"All in," said Mackoff.

Tompkins snapped him off and showed {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} which was crushing Mackoff's {A-Hearts}{k-Spades}.

The flop came down {J-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{A-Spades}.

"Queen of spades for a sweat," said Ludovic Lacay from across the table.

The dealer seemed to oblige, as the {Q-Spades} rolled off on the turn. The river, however, was the {8-Clubs} and Tompkins was able to seize a giant pot, crippling Mackoff in the process.

Santoro Doubles; Vasta Crippled

Action began when Amerigo Santoro moved all in for his last 480,000 from early position. It folded to Carmelo Vasta who moved all in over the top from the button. The blinds folded and Santoro was at risk.

Santoro: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}
Vasta: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}

The flop was {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{7-Spades} and Santoro was still in need of help. The {7-Hearts} on the turn was not that help. However, the room let out a collective gasp when the {K-Hearts} hit the river, pairing Santoro and scoring him a double up. He's now sitting at about 1 million while Vasta has been crippled to only 80,000.

The recent rate of eliminations is showing no signs of slowing down. The latest to fall was the popular Michael Benvenuti after he and Angelo Recchia got all the chips in pre flop on the TV table.

Benvenuti: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Recchia: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}

The board ran a low {7-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} so send Benvenuti on his way.
