Flushy Finally Out of the Starting Blocks

James Dempsey
James Dempsey

James 'Flushy' Dempsey complains that he never gets a good start at EPT's and is due 'a lot of hands.' It's not gone particularly well for him here so far today but he's just won his first significant pot. Dempsey fired out 2,200 on the turn of a {J-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades}{8-Diamonds} board against Kpayc Ahtoh and the latter made the call to see the {K-Hearts} river.

Now Dempsey quickly bet 5,500 but this time Ahtoh mucked his hand in rapid time.

Theo Short

Theo Jorgensen just moved all in on the turn of a {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{J-Hearts} board for his final 3,275 against Dario Nittolo but the latter declined to call. The Dane won the pot but he's definitely lost one or two big ones previously and is currently nursing a short stack.

Ionel Turns Up With An Unlikely Hand

Theo Jorgensen
Theo Jorgensen

Team PokerStars Pro Theo Jorgensen's hopes of becoming the third consecutive Danish EPT champion have just taken a blow after a clash with Anton Ionel over on Table 7.

Jorgensen had opened from under the gun then called when Ionel three-bet from the cutoff. The dealer spread out the {3-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop and Jorgensen lead into his opponent with a bet of 2,000. Almost immediately afterwards Anton raises it up to 4,700 and Jorgensen looked like he had a real decision to make. He sat riffling chips before taking back his two red 1,000 chips and replacing them with a single blue 5,000 one. Call.

The turn saw the {7-Clubs} make an appearance and Jorgensen lead into his opponent once again, this time making it 10,000 to play. As he had done on the flop, Ionel raised when the action was on him but this time all in for what turned out to be just over 17,000 in total. Jorgensen made the call and the cards were revealed.

Jorgensen: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}
Ionel: {A-Hearts}{3-Clubs}

Ionel had three-bet an under the gun raise with ace-three then spiked trips on the flop! Easy game! Jorgensen looked shocked and was resigned to defeat. The {8-Hearts} river failed to help him and he had to hand over all but 4,750 of his chip to Ionel.

"So you re-raised with ace-three because you knew some threes were coming," quizzed Jorgensen in a sarcastic tone, before adding, "nice hand."

No Action for Aces

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Marius Pospiech raised to 375 from UTG+1 and Roberto Sella made the call before Theo Jorgensen raised to 1,100 from the cutoff. Dario Nittolo then four-bet to 3,250 on the button - but this wasn't the end of it, the big blind moved all in for 13,850 and everyone folded faster than an origami convention. The big blind was understandably disappointed, he showed {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}.

D'Errico Six-Bet Shoves

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Riccardo D'Errico has just six-bet all in and forced a fold from Wesley Wiemes.

We missed the opening couple of bets but we were walking past their table to witness Wiemes taking back his four bet of 2,350 and replacing it with 7,200. The extra chips were soon in the possession of D'Errico as he six-bet all in. Wiemes checked his cards but discovered they had not turned into aces and he tossed them into the muck.

Did Nottoli Have A Spade?

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Dario Nittoli is first to act and he raises to 350 from under the gun. To his immediate left is his fellow countryman Davide Andreoni and he three-bets to 850, forcing everyone to fold back around to the open-raiser. Nittoli puts in the extra 500 chips and we are heads up to the {3-Spades}{9-Hearts}{J-Spades}.

After the preflop action and the position the players are seated in we are expecting some fireworks to go off here but they won't be exploding on the flop as both players almost instantly check. The turn is another spade, the queen, and again both players decline to bet. The river is the {2-Spades} and the board now contains more spades than your typical builder's yard. Nittolo decides to try and represent one and tests the water with a bet of 850. Andreoni sighs, checks his cards and sends them back to the dealer.

Kravchenko Set Up Nicely

Alexander Kravchenko managed to get a lot of value out of Kunimaro Kojo after flopping a set in their heads up pot.

We caught up with the action on the {4-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop where the Team PokerStars Pro raised to 1,700 when faced with a 625 bet. Kojo called, and check-called a 1,600 bet on the {k-Clubs} turn. The river came {7-Diamonds} and Kravchenko bet a chunky 4,500 when he was checked to again. Kojo took his time and made the call before he mucked upon seeing the Russian's {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}.
