Eugene Katchalov Bubbles the €10,000 High Roller

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Eugene Katchalov
Eugene Katchalov

The commentators on the live stream jokingly said that ElkY can't bubble. And they were right, he caught a seven on the flop and river to double up.

What's true for Grospellier apparently not necessarily goes for Katchalov as he just did bubble this event. Muhlocker was again involved, again with jacks. His {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} needed to dodge sevens again as Katchalov tabled {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}.

This time the sevens stayed in the deck: {2-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}. With that Eugene Katchalov was the official bubble for the €10,000 EPT Prague High Roller. All other players are in the money, guaranteed €17,250.

ElkY Can't Bubble!

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Thomas Muhlocker opened under the gun and called Bertrand Grospelliers's shove for 21,000. Muhlocker had by far the best hand with {J-Spades}{J-Hearts} but Grospellier had a fighting chance with his {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}.

The flop gave Grospellier a pair: {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}. The {Q-Clubs} on the turn was a blank but the {7-Diamonds} on the river was not. Grospellier can't bubble!

Vamplew Busts in 29th; Bubble Time

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
David Vamplew
David Vamplew

From under-the-gun Max Heinzelmann opened to 12,000, Andreas Eiler flat called, Andy Seth did likewise and it folded to David Vamplew in the big blind. He then moved all-in for 57,000 and after Heinzelmann folded, Eiler isolated all-in and Seth got out the way.

Vamplew showed pocket queens and it was a classic race againts Eiler's ace-king. But it soon turned one sided as a king flopped and an ace on the river just rubbed it in.

28 left, it's bubble time.

Finger Eliminates Cymbaluk

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Martin Finger opened to 10,000 from middle position and received two callers. Glen Cymbaluk on the button came along and Mike McDonald in the big blind invested another 5,000 as well.

{6-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}

McDonald checked to Finger who made a 21,000 continuation bet. Cymbaluk shoved all in and McDonald folded immediately. As fast as McDonals folded, so fast did Finger call. The EPT Prague winner had flopped his set with {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and Cymbaluk had "Just a diamond flush draw".

The {7-Hearts} on the turn was red but not the right suit. The {10-Clubs} on the river was a blank and a couple of spots before the money Glen Cymbaluk departed the tournament.

Seth Squeezes out Selbst and Heinzelmann

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Max Heinzelmann opened to 12,000 from under-the-gun and two seats along Andy Seth made the call. It then folded to Vanessa Selbst in the cut-off and she three-bet to 31,000. Back on Heinzelmann he asked for a count of Selbst's stack and she lifted her hands to reveal her stack, it looked to be in the region of 200,000. The German smooth called but Seth did not. Instead he raised to 88,000 and both Selbst and Heinzelmann folded.

Khoroshenin Makes the Call

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Steve O’Dwyer was in the small blind and Oleksii Khoroshenin was the big blind as the two of them had reached the river on a board reading {9-Spades}{6-Clubs}{10-Spades}{a-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}. O’Dwyer checked and Khoroshenin bet 17,000 only to face a check-raise from O’Dwyer to 50,000. Khoroshenin puzzled over this for a few minutes but decided to make the call with his {10-Diamonds}{2-Spades}. He had successfully picked off O’Dwyer’s bluff with {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}.

Floor Announcement

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

The TD has told the players that they will be going hand for hand when they are down to 28 players and there will be a table re-draw when there are 24 left.

Juha Helppi Eliminated at the Hands of Emil Ohlsson

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Juha Helppi opened the cutoff for 10,000 and got a three bet from Emil Ohlsson in the small blind. Ohlsson made it 26,000 to go and that made Helppi shove. Ohlsson made the call as soon as he found out it wasn't all that much more to him.

Ohlsson had {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds} which was a dog up against Helppi's {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}. The flop brought no direct help yet with {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}{4-Spades} but the {3-Hearts} on the turn did. The {10-Hearts} on the river was a blank and Helppi got up from the table and left.
