Zsuffa Snuffed by Duta

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Miklos Zsuffa got his last 248,000 all in preflop holding the {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds} and needed some help to overcome the {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} of Florian-Dimitrie Duta. The {2-Spades}{j-Clubs}{6-Hearts} flop gave him a little with a jack, but he'd need either another or an ace to stay alive.

The {4-Clubs} turn wasn't what he was looking for, and neither was the {8-Diamonds} river. Zsuffa missed and his day came to an end.

Vandersmissen Dismissed

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Kevin Vandersmissen
Kevin Vandersmissen

We're not sure of the exact betting, but we do know that Kevin Vandersmissen got his stack of 360,000 all in preflop holding the {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} and was ahead of the Kimmo Kurko's {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}.

The {6-Spades}{k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} flop kept Vandersmissen firmly in the lead, and the {2-Clubs} turn meant the only way he could be eliminated was if Kurko caught an ace on the river. Wouldn't you know it, that's exactly what happened when the {a-Diamonds} plopped down. With that, Vandersmissen was sent to the rail.

Cuberos Says Ciao in 39th Place

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

After Nicolau Villa-Lobos opeed for 45,000 under the gun, a short-stacked Manuel Cuberos shipped for 121,000 from the hijack. Action folded back to Villa-Lobos and he snap-called.

Cuberos: {2-Clubs}{2-Hearts}
Villa-Lobos: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Cuberos didn't seem overly surprised to see the overpair, but then again the best he could have hoped for was a flip. Unfortunately for him, that wasn't the case and he was unable to catch a deuce as the board ran out {5-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{5-Clubs}.

Cubero shook hands with his opponent, whispered, "Ciao," and then exited in 39th place.

Raising Wars on the Feature Table

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Benoit Gury opened for 42,000, Kresten Nielsen called and Emilio Jiminez three bet to 115,000. Nielsen folded and back to Gury who four bet to 217,000. Jiminez sat there for a while but didn’t have the hand to take him on and folded.

Flopped Set for Kurko

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

German PokerStars qualifier Stefan Tobias Kolossow has been stealing a lot of blinds and antes by opening for 42,000 and not finding any resistance. He opened again for his favourite 42,000 but this Kimmo Kurko defended his big blind and we saw a flop of {4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. Both players checked and the turn came {5-Clubs}. Kurko checked again and Kolossow bet 53,000. He got a call from Kurko and they both checked the river {7-Diamonds}. Dangerous board there so the action from Kurko was understandable as he turned over the {4-Spades}{4-Hearts} for a flopped set to win the pot.
