Igor Kurganov raised to 2,500 and one player called before Martin Finger three-bet to 7,000. Kevin MacPhee was seated on the button and four-bet to 16,800 after which Kurganov and the caller folded.
The action was back on Finger who moved all in for around 70,000 chips and MacPhee called instantly.
Kevin MacPhee:
Martin Finger:
The board ran out and MacPhee took down this massive pot. Finger was eliminated but we could see him again as he still has the option to rebuy.
He was heads up to the turn with Dmitry Gromov where the board read . Around 17,000 had made its way into middle and Benger bet 7,000 into it. His Russian opponent raised to 17,500 (54 back) and was immediately met with a three-bet to 29,000 by Benger.
This confused Gromov who thought for two minutes before asking, "Better set than me?" He must've thought so as he folded after two more minutes thought.
Daniel Cates has just won the chips back he lost earlier to Mike McDonald plus some more. The board showed and we caught the action when McDonald called a check-raise from Cates to 7,000.
On the turn the hit and Cates fired out 11,000, McDonald called. The river brought the and this time Cates tanked before betting 26,000. McDonald took his time but ultimately called and mucked when Cates turned over .
So far 123 entries have been recorded in this event among which plenty of rebuys. Right now 81 players remain with the average stack at 75,926 or 75 big blinds. The total amount of entries will go up as both Philipp Gruissem and Tobias Reinkemeier acknowledged they will enter the event tomorrow.
Mike McDonald is a known as being one of the best MTT players in the world and Daniel "Jungleman" Cates is lauded in the same way for his cash game skills. They clashed in a three-way pot that went to the MTT guy.
The flop was out and read . The action was checked to Cates on the button and his 2,500 bet was called by both opponents. All three players checked the turn before McDonald bet 10,000 on the river. That did the job as both opponents folded.
