Small One For Charania

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

A middle position player opened to 1,300 and Mohsin Charania called out of the big blind. The flop brought {3-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} and both players tapped the table.

Fourth street brought the {K-Clubs} and once again they both opted to check their options. This allowed the board to be completed with the {8-Spades}. Charania decided to fire a bet of 1,550 on this street. His opponent shrugged and tossed in calling chips.

Charnia rolled over {K-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for top pair and his opponent mucked his cards. With this pickup, Charania is sitting on about 72,000 in chips.

Computer Says Fold

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Dutch online phoneme, Johan van Til, is down to fumes after betting a large proportion of his stack and folding.

He opened to 1,200 from the cut-off and Phillip Mighall defended his big blind to head to a {3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop. Van Til continued for 1,200 and was called. On the {j-Clubs} turn Mighall check-raised his opponent's 1,500 bet all in for an effective 5,625.

Van Til sat and thought through all his options as his computer-like brain figured out the optimal move. His decided it was a fold.

The Number 1 is Here

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Up until now we did not even notice him, but GPI number 1 Marvin Rettenmaier is definitely playing in today's event. After flying home from Australia he spent a few days in his hometown Stuttgart but now he's back on the grind.

Rettenmaier has had the GPI lead for quite some time now and he's not looking to give it up any time soon. His nearest competitor Michael Watson is not playing in this event, Philipp Gruissem has already been knocked out and the players he has to worry about from the top ten are Bertrand Grospellier, Bryn Kenney and Michael Mizrachi.

Kitty Game's Down the Street

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Jannick Wrang opened to 950 from under the gun, and the action folded all the way to Kitty Kuo, who called in the big blind. The dealer fanned {3-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, Kuo checked, and Wrang continued for 1,400. Kuo quickly called.

The turn was a repeat three - the {3-Hearts} - and Kuo checked again. Wrang fired a second bullet worth 3,250, and Kuo again called.

The {6-Hearts} completed the board, both players checked, and Wrang showed {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for ace-high. Kuo had that beat with {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}, and raked in the pot.

You Know Dasher and Danzer...

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

We got to the table to find a completed board on the felt that read {4-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. There was already about 40,000 already in the middle and George Danzer checked on over to Anton Smirnov.

Smirnov announced that he was all in for his last 18,800 and Danzer went into the tank. Roughly one minute passed after we arrived at the table before someone called the clock. The floor staff came over and instructed Danzer that he had one more minute to act on his hand.

With about 15 seconds left on the clock, Danzer sighed and flung in a call. Smirnov rolled over {7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for quad fours. Danzer heaved a heavy sigh and threw his cards to the muck. In that motion, they hit the dealer's hand and turned over on the felt, exposing {A-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}.

Smirnov raked in the pot and Danzer is now left with only about 14,000. Smirnov, on the other hand, is now sitting pretty with about 76,000.

Benger loses 50 BB Flip

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Griffin Benger is back down to where he was a while ago after losing a 50 big blind flip.

The action folded to Thomas Graupner in mid position and he open shoved for 10,525. Benger made the call from the small blind and the cards were flipped up.

Graupner: {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}
Benger: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}|

The board ran {7-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades} to make the German a full house. Benger has to start the grind all over again.
