Helppi Yourself

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Just before the break, there was an open to 6,000 from under the gun on Table 15. Marc Witt called in middle position, Khiem Nguyen called in the cutoff, Juha Helppi called in the small blind, and the player in the big blind defended.

The flop fell {j-Hearts}{5-Spades}{j-Clubs}, and Helppi led out for 13,500. Only Witt called.

The turn was the {4-Clubs}, Helppi led out again - this time for 40,000 - and Witt tanked before grabbing enough blue T5,000 chips to make the call.

The {2-Spades} completed the board, and Helppi emptied the chamber, firing a third and final bullet worth 50,000. Witt tanked for several minutes, then stood up to spread the pot. The dealer tried to stop Witt, but it was too late. The German had already grabbed a large portion of the chips and moved them around.

He then returned to his chair, tanked for a little bit longer, and called. Helppi ripped over {a-Spades}{j-Spades} for trip jacks, and Witt gave a thumbs up before mucking his cards.

Go! Fight! Nguyen!

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Khiem Nguyen had the button and made it 8,000 to go. The small blind folded and Juha Helppi called out of the big blind.

The duo took in a flop that read {A-Spades}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Helppi checked. Nguyen continued for 9,000 and Helppi stuck around. The {6-Diamonds} turned and Helppi knocked the table once again. Nguyen bet 13,500 and Helppi called.

The river was the {5-Spades} and Helppi checked for a third time. Nguyen checked back and rolled over {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a rivered pair of fives. Helppi mucked his hand and Nguyen was pushed the pot.

Nguyen is now up to about 530,000 while Helppi has fallen to 258,000.

Ritz Relinquished

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Christoph Ritz was just knocked out a few spots shy of the money. Ali Azabdaftar moved all in for 15,500 and Ritz called all in for 8,000. Walid Bou Habib was seated in the big blind and he tossed in the extra chips to put both players at risk.

Christoph Ritz: {Q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}
Ali Azabdaftar: {A-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Walid Bou Habib: {K-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

The board ran out {4-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} and Ritz was eliminated.

Come Back, Alex!

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Alex Kravchenko was timed out in one hand where an opponent put him to the test for all his stack; there was no hanging around from the Russian a few minutes later though.

He opened to 9,500 and then snap-shoved for 82,500 when Manig Loeser three-bet from the small blind. Loeser was just as quick in calling.

Krachenko: {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Loeser: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

The board ran {3-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{j-Clubs} to make Kravchenko a set on the river. He was walking away from the table as the final card dropped and walked back with a rare smile across his face as his nearby supporters cheered.

Theo J8rgensen

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Theo Jorgensen (Day 2)
Theo Jorgensen (Day 2)

Team Pro Theo Jorgensen led out for a bet on a flop of {j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{4-Spades}. Dominik Nitsche raised to 55,000, Jorgensen re-raised to 110,000, and Nitsche moved all in for effectively 245,000.

"Call," Jorgensen said immediately.

Nitsche: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Jorgensen: {j-Spades}{8-Hearts}

"Wow," Nitsche said at the sight of the Dane's hand.

The Team Pro held as the turn and river came {9-Hearts}, {10-Hearts} respectively, and Jorgensen doubled to 540,000 chips. Nitsche slipped to 195,000, and looked non too happy about it.

Jacks Crack Aces Again

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

"All in and a call!" a dealer yelled.

We sprinted over to the table to see that Florian Dohnert was all in and at risk against Thomas Hall. Hall, the big blind, held {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}. Dohnert, the small blind, had {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}.

"I didn't want to call," Hall lamented.

The dealer rapped the table, then spread a flop of {7-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. The players at the table gasped at the sight of the jack. Dohnert started to gather his things as the {4-Hearts} rolled off on the turn, and turned to leave once the {7-Hearts} completed the board.

"Sorry," Hall offered.

With that elimination, we are now two players away from the money.
